I own and use a 2007 Sri 1.8vvt estate as a works vehicle after using vans for years. It is by far one of the best vehicles I've owned....the engine is spirited when thrashed...comes alive at 4500rpm,s but not hugely powerful low down as expected .....take off the air box and replace it with a cone filter and it's better still.The 2.2 petrol engine is by all accounts an extremely good powerful engine,not as popular though as you hardly seem to see them up for sale, but I have been told that the 1.8 unit is the most trouble free, 2.2 can have dual mass flywheel issues....what I've been told and not my experience. There is more room than you would believe in the back....it can carry 6ft-3ft plasterboards with all my tools, bags of plaster etc in luxury and if need be the seats can come out to take the kids if required....it's so a car for everything. But it's real ace card is it's handling..my other two cars are a Mazda RX8,and a Mini Cooper S R53.....and no way is this the poor cousin for chassis Dynamics. Running on Nankang NS2 tyres ( mid range sport) it goes around corners like it was painted on the road.....balanced and with very little role......it can get across country very briskly....inspires quite alot of confidence in what is quite a lardy car.A broken coil spring lead to a full set of Vogtland Progressive Sports Springs dropping the height by 30mm....but the ride is unaffected.... Making it even better in the Twisties.A set was cheaper than one spring from Vauxhall. If anybody is in the market for a fun, solid, comfy, sporting and atractive car be it like my estate or saloon for a £1000 then don't hesitate..I,ll be after another when this one gives up.

i have the CDTI 150. Beautiful car . 45 mpg around town. 62.5 on motorway. Engine totally inaudible at 70 mph , just some wind noise and tyre noise. Excellent acceleration and all round superb driving car. Will not be replacing it for a very long time. Mine is 11 yrs old and not one spec of rust anywhere to be seen . Its always a good sign when passengers have to ask is this petrol or diesel ?

@@propanbutan4634 in eight years ownership I have had 3 broken coils. Not an expensive fix I think the spring costs about £18.00 quid and 1 hours labour.

the car i have now is not classed as a beyond repair, so im looking at buying a vauxhall vectra, had a citroen picasso before and never ever again will i go with a citroen, had nothing but problems with it. so do you guys recommend a vectra?

I own a 07 plate 1.8 vvti vectra its been a good car but the only problem i have with ìt is that instrument cluster will go out then come back on if you press the hazard light or open the drivers door checked all fuses and earth all seem OK also took cluster out unplugged and cleaned connectors but no joy does anyone have any idea

I have a 2006 Vectra 2.2 Direct Petrol but the mpg is 24.5

Awful mpg but to be expected for a 2.2 petrol version of the car

Yeah, it's the 2.2 petrol I had, shocking mpg! It did make me drive that much slower and smoother though!
