I'm probably one of the two people on this planet who actually likes the design of the C Vectra. I even like the interior! Those angular lines are soo 80s. The saloon definitely looks better than the estate. I don't see many on the roads these days not even here in eastern Europe :))

Very underrated cars especially the VXR ones. Top Gear destroyed its reputation by removing the IDS Suspension module and TC then pushing it through corners like a mad man. @@michaelyounes29 they are troublesome cars with a weak haldex unit and they weigh more than 200kg in addition to the Vectra. 0-60 is pretty much the same in real life scenario which makes the AWD pretty useless plus the Vectra looks miles better. How refreshing to see someone not slagging off the Vectra. I had a 2003 one of those between 2006 and 2015 and it was brilliant! (OK, it was a 3.2 V6 GSi, but if there hasn't been a couple of grand's worth of work needed, including a new gearbox I'd have kept it going). That'll do as a great car for someone very nicely!

The Tychy (located in Poland) plant these 2.0 and 2.2 (main difference being just 8mm of stroke) are made in, was founded by Isuzu in '96. GM bought 60% of the stock in '02 (and the rest in '13). They manufactured millions of diesel engines, both Isuzu models and GM and they still do. This particular family of engines was designed by the ingenious Dr. Tech Fritz Indra - mainly famous for the C20XE, a.k.a. the venerable Red Top.The bloke pretty much masterminded the two best Opel/Vaux engines of all time.

The first thing anyone needs to do with one of these engines is remove inlet manifold ( quite a job ) blank off inlets and then remove EGR valve, clean it out and blank that off too. Re-assemble and away you go. Oh and then wait for the DPF to play up. Ask me how I know.

This your latest contribution is a beacon of light in my worl… just kiddin’. Had one of these for a few years but the manual. Great, reliable, economical load lugger… used it as a pseudo van for a few years. Pre-facelift they looked better imo. Bloke I sold it to in 2011 still has it and it still lives…..

Nice one Matt, I think thats a beauty. Lets face it, it may be old but it was good in its day, and its not been badly treated. I am sure so long as its viewed by folk, it will sell easy. Best of luck.

Low mileage relative to age is actually not a good sign. Because it means the car has either been driven short distances (mostly or exclusively) or has rarely been driven, neither of which is desirable. If I were to choose between 2 examples of the same car model (same age, engine, transmission, service history), where one has, say, 60k milrs on the clock and the other has 120k or more, I'd always pick the latter, even though most people would do the opposite.

I am amazed at how cheap older cars are in the UK, and how cheap your repair and labour charges are. You would pay more for the car, and a lot more for the maintenance here in Australia.

I actually looked forward to this when you first hinted last week about the forthcoming video. I don’t know why but I really like this shape Vectra, whiff of the underdog about it.

I have always loved Vectras. I had a 1.8 petrol Vectra B from 1996, a 2.5 v6 Vectra from 1998 and a 1.8 Vectra C from 2004. Currently in a 2 litre diesel Insignia from 2015. Absolute workhorse cars and enormous space.

Had one of these almost 10 years ago, 1.9d Sri - bought for £900 I think and loved the size of the diesel estate. Fuel pipe once fell off and pissed diesel everywhere & had to get recovered, fine other than that. Traded it for an e53 x5 that broke loads but no regrets.

I've owned (and still own) 2 Vectra's since 2007. The first was a 2 litre petrol that had 176,000 miles at the end and the current is a 1.8vvt, has 89,000 miles and I've owned it for six years. Yes a dad's car all the way and super reliable. Cheap for parts and good on fuel. A very bland car inside but they handle very well for a large car. Not keen on the diesel engine and the DM flywheel. The was also a problem with the diesel inlet manifold flaps too. Cool video as always.

Thankyou for making this video 📹 about the vectra c, you have done a great job on this car 🚙, every penny is worth keeping this beautiful car on the road, i currently own one myself, exact same one (elite) top spec. Milage is 250.000, It is burgundy in colour and with a cream leather interior and yes it does sound 🔊like a truck 🚚 , that diesel noise is just stunning, sadly the timing belt snapped on mine and its been off the road (sorn) with dvla for about 6 years, its my beautiful ferrai and i have no plans on selling it, im abit broke at the moment, however i would like to get the whole car fully refurbished one day INSHALLAH..!!!

Absolutely nothing wrong with these. They drive okay, are massively spacious and the 1.9 Fiat diesel is a cracking engine. As a workhorse you can't do better.

I used to have an Insignia and my least favorite thing about it was the noisy Fiat diesel. They’re reliable, however. Just like the car in general. I’ve always liked the Vectras, all of them actually. I actually checked the Finnish equivalent to autotrader the other day and while Vectras used to be absolutely everywhere, there were just a handful for sale and exactly half of them were 2.2 or larger. There used to be tons of 1.8 etc ones but they are all gone.
