My 3yr old son loves watching your video's he's on the autistic spectrum and has a fascination with vacuum cleaners..... This brings me back to my childhood. This or a similar model survived 15 years of abuse from my siblings mess. Its a shame my father couldn't figure out how to use the carpet cleaning function.... It saved me from an ass whooping from my father countless times.

I had this version when it came out originally, was a very powerful vac and not too bad at washing .

Hello Roger! I have a question that I think you might be able to answer for me. At least I hope. I have recently moved to America. I had the pleasure of receiving a unused boxed Vax 221 (121) I use to have one years ago and loved it! If I were to swap the American 221 motor into a Vax 2000 would it function the same? As im not sure if the vax had the same motor size or style as the 2000. I know it wont sound the same. As the 2000 had a quieter motor sound. A little odd as to why not leave it. But i have always liked how the 2000 looked more. Same colouring but different style. It will also look a little bit more modern while vacuuming around my new home. Hope you can help! Tommy

Found a very similar machine at the side of the road the other day, Vax 5140 Rapide or something, Didn't have any wet stuff with it. Needed a motor and a clean but it works again.

The older ones I get from eBay mostly and all the others I get from wherever I can find them which is mostly from online sellers.

VAX's were always overpriced and bad quality. I had one of these "wet" machines in the past and regret this buy. It burned its motor at first use! Huge disappointment. Now I have DYSON and it's a miracle. Totally different quality and culture of work.
