I'm on the "save it Sam" camp. Like you said, it's a clean title Cummins 5 speed truck. Rare in my area, and in semi decent condition.
@greenwoodsbushhogging67043 күн бұрын
It's a 50-50 truck. 100% worth saving, but 100% worth donating if you have a better build truck. Then 1 could save 4 trucks.

I bought my ‘97 12 valve almost ten years ago. 5 speed, with the higher output non-CA rated engine. I’ll probably never let it go
@Banana_JohnsonnКүн бұрын
I’m on the save it side. Really only the dash and a bit of the interior is shot. But a clean title 5 speed 12v is Almost to good to pass up. And the outside is in decent shape too.

Man I love the sound of old 12 valves. I wish there was a way to know when you listed trucks for sale. Everything on the east coast is rotten for the most part.

All stock 12V head gaskets leak in time, normally coolant at the front. I would save that 96, replace the head gasket and put in better seats and use it just to beat around in. Sort of your off-road rig you don’t care gets scratched up or filthy.
@johard36883 күн бұрын
It deserves some love. On a side note, I have some body work to do on my 98. Not looking forward to it as I have never done any dent or fiberglass work lol.

@jamesvaldez4093Күн бұрын
I have a 99 just like you with a 5 speed and the 53 block. It's got 215,000 miles and I worry about the block number problem but it keeps going and runs strong. No blowby.

I thought I heard you call that a 96 ,it’s got a 98 interior in it,so I’m guessing it’s a 98. Those goofy battery adapters are to use group 31 HD semi truck batteries which are alot better and cheaper than the group 27s Dodge put in them from the factory. Amzthat old gal fired right up sitting for 6 months!

That really depends on what you mean by first things.. id say make sure the KDP it taken care of. a set of gauges might be nice to monitor things like egts and fuel pressure. Other than that id go through the fluids
