I am so looking forward to hearing the story about your dads Nickname. Awesome seeing your dad out there jumping off stuff and smiling. I know my father wasn't in that level of shape at his age.

Don't take delivery of that trailer unless it is what you ordered. Sad to say I am going through that myself. I refused to take delivery until my request was met. God bless

On the mention of employees. I would suggest in seeing if you can hire the first couple as Contract Labor. Cause it changes the tax and HR liabilities that you have to handle on your end. It also makes hiring and firing much easier too. With it just being you and your dad and his business partner right now. Your all seen as partners not employees. But once you add a true employee in the eyes of the law. It becomes a huge change in requirements. (though not 100% sure how that works for you since your not working out of a set location and generally meet up on job sites)

Dang I was looking forward to the new trailer video. But if you need help welding up new angle iron on the trailer let me know. I got my big welder with torches and everything else on a trailer ready to go. Just make sure to have some pure leaf sweet tea cold drinks and a can of Copenhagen snuff and music.

I've got a brand new 10k tilt trailer that had a bunch of problems. Before I had driven it 500 miles, it needed 4 seals, degreasing, and a pair off bearings replaced. The Lippert brakes didn't work for crap until way past the usual break-in period. Depending on what you are buying, what the components are, and who made the trailer, you are more than likely to have to put in hours to get it ready for duty - just seems to be a sign of the times

@@VBELTandSON Kaufman, out of Nebraska. Now I will say they paid for some warranty work, and I had no problems dealing with the sales people or the service guys. They were all very nice and actually helpful. They are dealerless, so they find you a local shop. The guy that did the warranty work said he'd never seen that company treat a customer so nicely. I always try to be polite, maybe it helps sometimes. I guess buying a trailer isn't like a car, they are a little more fast and loose with quality and assembly, and that's probably everywhere

Great comparison. A machine used as a multi use tool has limitations, however the 12 is very effective in limited access (rubber track), lower volume and tight quarter situations. I’m seriously looking at a 12, and can see the versatility of adding a root/brush grapple plus buckets, posthole, compactor and many more, makes it a great choice. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍🇺🇸

It seems to me they both have their place. The skid steer for places where access is on pavement. The Primetech almost needs a semi or a dump truck with a tag trailer to haul it comfortable.

I was concerned about metal tracks on metal ramps but then someone mentioned using tires to load a dozer (or your primetech). I'm thinking of cutting down a horse stall mat and using that to protect the metal ramps....we'll see if it works.

Sam - I don't know anything about the PrimeTek, but on the Takeuchi, on your "off" season - drop both belly plates and raise the cab and give a good wash-out. I had a pressure line blow on me last week, and couldn't find it under all the grime/dirt/dust etc. Had a rub-through between the front plate and the junk that was down there.

Did you ever look into a JCB teleskid? They are pretty sweet with just the one lift arm. I’ve heard they are one of the bigger skid steers on the market as far as lift capacity goes.
@VBELTandSON
@VBELTandSON 5 жыл бұрын
Kyle Adams I didn’t look at jcb. I’m after highflow and horsepower. If the 12 can’t lift it then a skiddy shouldn’t try. Lol the 12 throws around a 3k mulcher head

Big tex wouldn't let me go straight to the company they wanted a sales person to middle man the deal. Texas pride let me go direct I probably saved $2k going factory direct and the trailers are almost the same.

The PT would be impressive with knives. Unless you have rocks to deal with I don’t see the point of Carbides on a machine with less then 300hp.

@@VBELTandSON I have a hydro ax 421 with Fecon head that I am not a fan of and a ASV120 with Prinoth head. The ASV with knives eats like your PT175 with Carbides. That PT would be an animal running knives if your environment allows for it

@VBELTandSON
@VBELTandSON 5 жыл бұрын
Steven Ward thank you! And I considered cat. But looked at one that had been used as a mulcher seemed that had trouble with debris getting around loader arms and had screen added to stop that and cab seemed little to small. I’ve been completely happy with the 12 no regrets

The skid steer would have a better chance if you were running a gyro trac head on it and a heavy duty skid steer.
@VBELTandSON
@VBELTandSON 5 жыл бұрын
matthew braddy 🤦🏼‍♂️ everyone always thinks knives are the best answer. We can put knives on both of these machines. And would have gone through two maybe three sets of knives on this job because of the rocks. Simply doesn’t make sense to run knives around here. Gyro trac Cimaf no matter. I picked fae for a reason. Biggest reason is the hood that no one else has

V-BELT and SON knives would probably be a disaster, I know when people are using them here, the rock destroy them post haste, even tungsten hammer heads only last about 300 hours ( and make a huge mess that must be re raked )
@matthewbraddy4922
@matthewbraddy4922 5 жыл бұрын
Your right about that. But you can't say that a knife doesn't give you a better looking finish.
@sstein49
@sstein49 5 жыл бұрын
matthew braddy very true gives a much finer mulching, but here in Texas that cedar mulch just leaves huge dead zones that have to be raked to get any ground growth and the knives make it harder to clean up, and the rocks kill them so even with more transferable HP they become useless immediately
