I'm guessing all these configs net out to the same weight, hence the venting for the wider secondary blade, and some shape difference for the primary blades. This would make sense from an engineering/trajectory standpoint, but I think I would explore other options to keep each secondary blade option in the same durability zone. Separately, THANKS for the discount !!! You really take care of us.

One thing I'd love to see added to your tests is flight noise. I know I'll probly catch flack for saying this is of all my hunting and reading. That a deer hears the arrow coming vs "jumping the string". The few experiments I have done I found broad heads with no holes are alot quieter. Anyhoo thought it would be a great thing to add. How to fully do it not sure? Maybe put a microphone next to the target while your doing the flight test.
@LuskArcheryAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I have sure considered doing it. But there are a few obstacles. First, I don't have a long enough quiet place to do that test. Outside, there is so much variation in ambient noise that it would be difficult to really compare the noise of one head to another on different days. Inside, I need enough distance away from the sound of the shot....and also a very quiet place. I don't have that. On a separate note, I really don't worry about arrow flight noise at all. Bow noise is huge cause an animal can pinpoint the origin--you! But a moving object could be a bird or bug for all they know. I've taken hundreds of animals and never seen it to be an issue. It may be...but I just haven't seen it or see how it could be. And I already use loud vanes--Blazers attached helically, so my arrows are already pretty loud as it is. All that said, if I have a choice, all other things equal, I'd choose a solid blade over a vented cause they are quieter.
@GBBLGBL Жыл бұрын
One other thing John is I feel that there is a design flaw in the VBS. I know I can't shoot these with HIT's due to the rear of the bleeders are tight against the end of the arrow shaft. I was practicing with one and after a few shots into foam the bleeders left divots in the carbon. If I decide to shoot them I will have to go to a sturdier outsert. Probably the sharpest broadhead out of the box I have EVER tested!
@LuskArcheryAdventures Жыл бұрын
That’s good observation. My arrows have a collar that protects that but not everyone’s does. I’ve seen the same happen with other Blade over Shaft designs, like the Exodus Full.
@GBBLGBL Жыл бұрын
@@LuskArcheryAdventures Like when the larger bleeders broke and drove straight back through your insert and into the front of the carbon shaft! I received these and the MD3's. My sharpness tester showed the same thing ....crazy sharp out of the box for the VBS but not so much on the MD3. I am sure the steel is SO hard that it's tough to get them "razor?" For some reason my VBS impact low at 50-80 yards compared to my Iron Will's 🤔....I wonder if it's because my VBS are the vented model (100g/1.25"/7/8") and have a little more drag vs my IW being solid single bevel left?

How would you compare to Iron Will? I started shooting single bevel Iron Will in the Synder core system this year and absolutely love them. I'm shooting these on Vector 490g arrows. I've had a pass through breaking two ribs and buried about 8" in the dirt. The Iron Will held a edge so well, I only needed maybe 2 minutes of sharpening. The curved blades seems like they would be a challenge to sharpen..
@LuskArcheryAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I really like Iron Wills. My only complaint of them is the cut size. I like their Wides for that reason. I'd rather have a wider cut and cut more tissue and just have the arrow land on the dirt on the opposite side of an animal :) These have a cut that is in between the Wide and the regular Iron Will. I like that. But they also have a 1.5" that is wider than the Wide :)
