Exactly. There is this much misguided understanding that if you * Pay Back The Money; * then all is A-OK ! In this case; given the absolute short-term * Loan * period ( As you rightfully query ); from WHERE did the subsequent payback monies ( Original capital PLUS an evident 45%+ Interest Rate ); come from ? As you also mention; what was the PURPOSE / NEED for such a * Loan * in the first place ? In its entirety; the time-line is all wrong; let alone the fact that; unsurprisingly; the Coffee Shoppe no longer trades or exists ? ! 🤔 Ultimately; methinks the Minister doth protesteth too much and for too long; without providing basic support documentation which you and I would have to have as a matter of process; record and reference .... 🙄

Earning a big salary in her position with a lot of responsiblilities as mayor of Polikwane, where did she had to time on hand to run a coffee shop? Her answers to the questions at the commision, was just nonsensical and all the effort to go from pillar to post to lay her hands on money for her ‘coffee shop’😂😂😂 no wonder our cities and towns are falling apart. She doesn’t even understand the term of conflict on interest, but on the other hand it seems that most polititians and high proflile office bearers, the term: conflict of interest, corruption means nothing as long as they can blame everything on white capital monopoly money, yet it is fine to steal from the very same poor they claim to serve and correct injustices. Even the poorest of the poor cannot be fooled by the ANC and like minded parties any more. But the money that she was borrowed was coming from a man who benefitted from the VBS. She was not directly involved, but in the process, she came to know that the money she was borrowed came from that vbs bank. The question is : after she came to know, WHAT DID SHE DO.? Nothing. It is unfortunate what has happened to these pensioners, but that is what happens when you vote with your heart and not your head. That being said, this man misunderstood the law re source of funds. There is no obligation on the borrower to establish the source of funds when taking a loan from a third party. The obligation is on credit providers who are accountable and reporting institutions to establish deposits made into their accounts. So in a nutshell, this lady is a credit borrower, not credit provider, hence this obligation establish source of funds does not apply to her.
