Great to hear a nod to Man, something you don't hear every day. I've loved them since the 70s. It seems I always get a nice tidbit like this from you guys. Great episode, as always. Thanks and remember, "be good to yourself at least once a day."

Great session, guys! Didn't know Steve's channel, must jump over and sub. I remember when Marc played Christmas At The Patti on his radioshow. Immediately used Shazam to know what was playing. Fantastic jam. Have a great weekend John, Marc, Steve. Cheers /Paul

"Can't get you out of my head" is an incredible watching experience, moving, depressing with tiny moments of hope.

I still need to watch another 4 episodes - very memorable so far..

Hi Chaps. Excellent stuff, as always. I last watched The Straight Story a few weeks ago. I hadn’t seen it since it was first released and it certainly hasn’t lost any of its charm. My wife was working in the next room and she came in half way through to find out what I watching because she thought the soundtrack was just so beautiful. All N All is obviously a classic, but you can say that about most of the EW&F albums from the 70’s. And you’ve cost me money again - both the Keith Hudson album and Curtis book ordered whilst watching the video 👍👍

Great session! One of you, I believe John, sent me a Lewis Taylor CD and it prompted me to buy a proper CD player so I could listen somewhere other than my car. Brilliant record. Glad you both have Revelator now! I tried “Can’t get you out of my head” but it was too depressing for me then. I’ll give it another try. Speaking of tractors. I’ve been bingeing Yellowstone”. If you want some beautiful shots of Montana and a view into the craziness of Cowboys, give it a go. And this North London Derby has been fun to watch!

Hey Stavros. Did enjoy the North London Derby I must say although I suddenly had to put together a presentation for Korea that I thought was due on April 15th - not today... I saw the first two episodes of Yellowstone on Channel 5 here - then it got moved to the middle of the night with no watch again options. As you say a great show but not being very well treated here.

Hello Mark and John. Always a pleasure seeing you both. What a fabulous choice in VC guests. Steve exemplifies the words 'class act'. He has been a fantastic addition to this community. Like yourselves he listens to some wonderful music. Sometimes outside the box which I love. That Morricone soundtrack 'Sonny & Jed' has just been jotted down. Just a quick note. We have quite a few mini marts/convenience chain stores in Massachusetts. I am sure that you have heard of 7-11. Anyways. Another one that was very successful is Tedeschi's. Susan Tedeschi's family owns them. She is the great granddaughter of the owner Angelo Tedeschi. Nice showing with the Bunny Wailer John. The last of the great Wailers. Kind of sad in a way. RIP Jah B. So many great showings. Where do I start? Thank you Mark, John & Steve. I could have happily watched you all for another hour. It is videos like this that keep my VC spirit alive and well~ Rob/Boston

Thanks as ever for dropping in Rob! I did not know that about the Tedeschi family - I do know about 7-11's though - we used to have hundreds of them her in the 80/90's...all gone now though!

Hello Rob - A good friend of mine Richard's sister used to manage the Tedeschi store in (I think) Springfield. Seem to remember it was a bit more upmarket than 7-11. Never made the connection with Susan before.

Great vid!... Curtis Mayfield certainly comes across very differently in the book than the image you get from his records... it's a fascinating read. Thats a really great Mcalmont track, which I only got to know from your recommendation of the Lewis Taylor mix on mixcloud... lovely stuff. Maybe there will be a little more appreciation of his talents with the album rerelease, though i'm not sure he'll be especially moved by it.

Ha ha - yes Laurence i think you might be right about Lewis there! Though he does seem to be uploading all his videos to his new youtube channel now and presumably he must be involved in some way with the album re-release? Have you seen this interview with him from a few years back? souljones.com/exclusive-features/2016/6/14/questions-answers-lewis-taylor

@@drrhythmn interesting read... thanks! I hadn't heard anything about him since all the news of his abandoning music altogether. I remember when the first album came out and there was a lot of press attention, but I didn't realise it didn't sell. I had the CD, but picked up the LP a few years later when it was reduced in a sale.

Another great video, many thanks all. I know of and visit both record shops in Hay on Wye and Abergavenny, of which Steve speaks and sincerely hope the guys that own them, have survived the last year. Would love to own the John Zorn on vinyl, but as you say the Pellucidar is around £50 and the other album I’d dearly like to have on vinyl, The Gentle Side, is around the same kind of price. Great music, both and the artwork is fab!
@omniversal73 жыл бұрын
Yes I couldn't believe my eyes when Pellucidar suddenly appeared at a ridiculously low price! So often sellers on ebay and amazon don't really know what they're selling ....
@jimster243 жыл бұрын
@@omniversal7 Yes, I must keep an eye on eBay, in future. 👍

That’s weird you showed All ‘N’All, just 5 minutes ago I commented it’s my favourite recording!. Especially Runnin’ & Brazilian Rhyme with the Deodato arrangements. Can’t go wrong with a 50 piece band!

No it really is a brilliant album all the way through. I also love Serpentine Fire, Fantasy and Magic Mind - fantastic stuff!

Before I knew Jon (Digital Gramophone) from the VC we both were at the same Derek Trucks gig at a theatre at Winthrop University. Only maybe 30 people there or so. My crew stole the banner for the gig off the building lol. Hung in my friend’s garage for years before I had it then finally had to discard it. Jon was only there because it was part of his curriculum for school to go. Small world.
