I visited the old factory a couple days ago. What a sad sight it was. The old Vector facility was closed and boarded up And that old aqua jet sign was long gone though you can still see the outline. The old palm trees are gone and in its place is an old motorhome that someone is living in

That is one wild looking car. Really cool to see footage of one driving. I remember the wall posters of it back then and it was so much faster than all the other production cars I wondered if it was even a real car or some type of exaggerated concept. I see now they actually produced some of these and it had GM roots. Pretty amazing car especially considering how long ago that was

The average car observer has no idea the historic nature of what the vector was. The first use of composite construction in a chassis and the "little" matter of 1200 HP!!! A cornering figure of 1.2 G's and a top speed of like 250 MPH. Yes, there were limitations in that the engine is basically a GM 350 design NOT what they were originally considering and should have used...a GM BIG BLOCK which would have caused everyone in the exotic car field to faint. Still, Vector caused major anxiety in Euro snoid circles especially when the cornering figure was announced. I was in Europe when all this went down and got an earful from all the exotic car dealers and saw the coverage in the euro automotive publications. Vector gave them all a real jolt that as an American I throughly enjoyed......Go Wiegert!!!!!

@@paulthomson9709 Less than 600 hp with California smog equipment. Around 650 hp without. They clocked 217 mph on a high speed test, but probably that car had its boost turned up some. Still, it was a genuinely fast car.

There are hints of a VW corrado on the front end of that car for sure. I wonder if VW actually took inspiration from this car to design the flow of the front end of the corrado....even the lower lights are very similar.

Okay I’ve watched ONE fucking video about this car, now I’ve gotten so many fucking videos of this car specifically recommended to me. I’ve seen videos of this car drive, reverse, park, and even in an auction. I’m more interested in a RAV4 and have watched more videos of the RAV4, but I haven’t had many videos about the RAV4 recommended to me (not as much as the W8 at least)

Design wise, someone must have gone.. Speed boat Airport vehicles Goblin shark Yes.. YES.. FUCK YES!!! I GOT IT!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, no.. I never liked the look of this thing.. other than from the side tbh. To me it sort of look like they got inspired by anything but a fighter jet.. lol! Well, other than that instrument panel which is freakin cool plus the windscreen and angled door-windows. Those "pop down" head lights are rad as fuck too!😉😋
