They joke about the whole "tracking people from a photo" thing but it is seriously way easier to gain personal information from seemingly innocent things than most people assume, and its a genuine security concern that more people should be aware of even if you aren't an online presence like a streamer or influencer. Most people know about not showing card numbers or adresses but don't realise that having your keys in a picture means that someone can quite easily make a copy of them or that censoring things with black scribbles often doesn't work if its not completely opaque because if it isn't you can just change the highlights/shadows and read whats underneath. There are also tons of little context clues that people give out which alone are completely meaningless but when all put together you are actually sharing way more information than youd ever be comfortable stating directly to a stranger on the internet.

@@falsnamae3511 exactly, and Google often knows who you are even when you aren't logged in and are using a different ip just from your browsing patterns etc, and incognito mode does nothing other than delete cookies at the end of a session. Cyberspace is just nuts to begin with, and these days, it only exists to tell you what you want to hear, sell you things, and farm you for data. The algorithms create echo chambers that has led to highly detrimental societal impacts like the exponential growth in flat earth, transphobic conspiracy and antivaxx beliefs, which is seen as a plus by the companies because people who are of low intelligence and who are extremely gullible are the easiest to profit from because they are incapable of understanding even the most basic of concepts. This is the same reason scam emails often contain poor spelling and grammar, it helps target people who would fall for the scam because if they have poor enough mental abilities that they don't recognise the grammar and spelling issues they aren't going to recognise that they are being scammed.

even something as simple as showing what wifi names you have and there signal strength can be used to find you location, using googles api (which work on triangulation) because when google sends there vans for street view, they also scan for the wifi networks (along with 10 million other things) the way I think about internet privacy is this, you can plug 10,000 ways to track you, but there are 10,100 ways which leave 100 doors fully open

@@snowfloofcathug actually no I haven't, I don't tend to watch that kind of content too often despite having an interest/natural ability myself (for example I just got offered a prize from a creator for being able to track down their location from a short drive they took during a patreon livestream, it was a bit of a joke challenge that started from a few silly comments during the stream (and there was only a very small number of us involved) but I was an hour faster than the next quickest person). Its something I usually try to avoid because it's easy to freak people out by remembering small details and putting things together, even if you didn't intend to.

I don't know, but there is a real possibility, the frame+picture is thick enough to stuff a lot of electronics inside and the reflective glass-like surface could act like a one-way mirror, so you can be seen from the inside, but you can't see the inside, because it is reflective and has no light source in it. Only one thing is certain, it is very creepy.
