Imagine the scenario -No SRK waving on his bdays and Eids. Mannat being one of the tourist spots in Mumbai. I don't think Ranbir will be able to enjoy that kind of a stardom even if he becomes a 'Superstar'. SRK has literally built a personal connection with his audiences esp the Millennials. I think Ranbir is more on the introverted side. He may become the most successful of his time, but not at the level of the Khans. P.S. - my personal opinion.

I think it's not just the case for Bollywood even Hollywood in today's age is struggling to create bonafied superstars from their new generation talent pool and I think it's because entertainment in its complete sense now does not include only films with how large others forms of entertainment are taking centre stage like the gaming industry,animation industry or KZbin content creation people don't necessarily need to rely only on films for entertainment when other mediums are providing better entertainment with much more satisfaction

Like the general audience and most actors say themselves - Hrithik was the last superstar that india and Hindi cinema got. Before the social media era arrived there was this enigma around actors and huge stars, unfortunately after social media came and as it boomed up in our country, he only have seen temporary stars and not the real big stars. I guess the only new true blue stars of India pooped up after Hrithik debuted is Prabhas (that too after Bahubali 2 came) that’s it. I don't think Ranbir is the next superstar in any way. I have seen in 'Coffee with Karan', every episode actors praise him, and other actors are the ones who have made Ranbir Kapoor respected in the audience's mind. Ranbir Kapoor has not created any place by himself. I don't think hiding from people makes you a star. It's your mind which makes you a star. If people like your thoughts, your personality, then you become a star. People like Salman Khan's personality and they want to become like him in real life. Ranbir is 42- And I guess When Main hoon na Released, Srk was around 40, Now you can compare both. We used to call Srk superstar long before that.. nd now with every movie release we are calling one person or the other as Next Superstar. Fact is when Srk said I am the next superstar, he’s correct. Now people don’t fall for your acting anymore, it’s more about the personality and the image that you hold in public. Also now female actors are becoming more popular than male. I feel Alia is a superstar but Ranbir isn’t.

BTW while explaining history of superstars , you forgot to mention SRIDEVI , who is the first female superstar of whole indian cinema (both in north and south ). Between amitabh bacchan and 3 khan's superstar era it was Sridevi who was the superstar with great box office pull. Would appreciate if u consider to make a video on her .

naah not in south atleast . before sridevi there were many female superstars . if you are talking about north or india as a whole, you maybe right but only considering south , savitri was the first to do so. she was paid the same amount her male costars were paid, male stars were eagerly waiting for her dates for shooting . And this was 1950's we are talking about when women empowerment were not even A thing but she showed what equality is.

@@saddu1107 yess i am talking of whole indian cinema and north region (bollywood) ...yess i do agree that legendary savitri was 1st female superstar in south. But Sridevi crossed the barriers of north and south (i think may be first actor/actress ever to do so) and had huge super stardom all over India. Though many legendary actresses like rekha, hema malini, aishwarya etc etc were from south but there were SUPERSTARS in bollywood only.

@@saddu1107 what i know is that sridevi was already a big star in south before entering bollywood coz she was working in south when she was 4 year old and already did more than 100 films in south before entering bollywood. But whatever, it is very clear that she was superstar in both north n south. Aishwarya definitely did movies in south, but only doing movies doesn't mean a superstar, else rekha, hema malini, etc etc had also been superstars in south but we know they were not despite doing many south movies. But definitely aishwarya is a great actress , I loved her in movies that i saw. She must have been a good star in south but i am not sure of her SUPERSTAR status.

It is not only about SRK ....it is almost impossible to have that kind of stardom the old era had in today's date...and it has very less to do with acting...gone are the days when a hero wud charmingly dance his way into love...beat some villians ... save the heroin and every audience in the single screen wud whistle....with all the logic and realism that the audiences nowdaya seek in movies it is not easy....also the stars like the Khans in old days had a certain allure and mystic in them...but with the social media and paparazi culture today...audiences arw force fed about an actors hype...and the expectations become to abnoramlly high...one flop and the actor's stock goes down...and with the same social media exposure ppl know where the actor stats..where he ate...what shoes he had...whom he met....save for the certain few there is no allure

Superstar is someone who you go to watch movie for, If the actor is involved in project people are watching, this includes SRK, Salman, Amir and Tom Cruise even Christopher Nolan is a superstar because people go watch his movie for him cause they trust his work, Ranbir kapoor is not that guy even though I love his movies but they are hit or miss most of the time.
