And there is one so called pan India movie releasing lyrical video in some other language not even English. ( return of Hanuman) it's the last 20 sec removed from other version. Em Thamizh Vaazhga Vaazhga Veera Cholam Vaazhga Natramizh Vaazhga Vaazhga Nallor Dhesam Vaazhga Long live My Tamil ! Long live Brave cholas! Long live good Tamizh! Long live the nation of good people! NOTE some are commenting he copied from gundecha brothers but He gave credits in the lyrics video and description . it's only based , not a ditto copy, the raaga is same that's it. he is ARrahman. " composition based on traditional Dragavani tradition Dhrupad" ITS IN THE LYRIC VIDEO. both are totally different .

Rick, you were talking about (O fortuna carmina burana) also popularized as the Oldspice Theme song. It is one of the most epic music compositions of all time that requires a full on choir.

Raja raja cholan is praised by wishing 'long live' and is invited to rule. ARR now composed as per the situation in old style using the voices of Sankar Mahadevan, Chitra and Harini. The old film Raja Raja Cholan (1973) also had the same. The song, Thanjai periya koyil' sung by TR Mahalingam, Seerkazhi Govindarajan and S Varalaxmi gave a warm welcome to the chola King (Shivaji Ganesan) in Kunnakudi Vaithiyanathan musical.

I don't think this is emphasized enough, but your sense of humor is 🔥- it's exactly the kind of stuff I say and laugh about. When Korbin said "fuck Bryan" at the beginning of the video, I lost it 😂

As per the Wikipedia, “Dhrupad is a genre in Hindustani classical music. It is the oldest known style of major vocal styles associated with Hindustani classical music, Haveli Sangeet (music) of Pushtimarg Sampradaya and also related to the South Indian Carnatic tradition” By the way, my family follows the Pushtimarg Sampradaya, a sub-tradition in Vaishnavnism, one of the major denominations in Hinduism. Pushtimarg Sampradaya is focused on Krishna devotional school. Whenever there is a religious event in my family, people sing songs based on Dhrupad genre.

The Tune and inspiration came from an ancient Hindu sacred holy song. You can hear this tune for the original hymn played in Temples or in Brahmin people's households If I'm Not Mistaken. I have heard this tune before, it was played in a temple. But they just kind of changed the words to reflect on Arulmozhi Varman aka Ponniyin Selvan aka Raja Raja Chola's anointment as King.

3:42 It is 4+3+3. 10 beats per bar. Count it as 1234, 123, 123. Thakadimi thakita thakita. 10:40 Your count of 5 is right but you double it and count twice as fast and split it into 4/3/3.

The beauty of ancient Tamizh and the mysticism of Rahman's music .. This music is inspired by an ancient song on Lord Shiva (same tune). And you are right - it is the song that plays when King returns victorious from the war.

@@sumanthnagabushan1063 True. When Anima gets awards, it doesn't make sense and shows bad choice towards art. Hardly few people left in India who can compose cinema music with all elements keeping the great Indian music roots intact yet deliver best. I see only ARR among those is consistent from last 3 decades. Par with Bharat ratna or beyond and he should get it soon. Only two I respect from heart is ARR and Sachin Tendulkar.
