It is very sad to know that no one stressed for Referendum. If there have been referendum . I am sure at least 60% would have voted to stay with kerala. I was born in kumarapuram. If we have been with kerala today all our resources would have been protected along with culture, schools and water bodies. I hope for a day when there will be a call for referumdum. It was suggested by Shri MKK Nair in his autobiography that the southern part of Thiruvithaamkoor was added to Tamil Nadu and the the southern part of Karnataka was added to the newly formed Keralam because some of the influential decision makers of those times wanted to reduce the possibility of Kerala becoming a state under Congress rule. Has anyone done an objective study using archival documents and found out the real story? I wonder. On the face of MKK Nayar's theory looks plausible.
