Hi , i'm using your product VEGAPULS 11 in a Glycol project and it is perfoming really well ! Due to contamination in the Glycol (refrigerator plant ) we have an overflow IBC container and from there we are pumping back to the system (whenever it triggers to a specific height) .I'm very pleased with the sensor, it reacts very quickly when the level changes and is accurate even if it is foam or just glycol in the container.

hi.. I had personally experienced an issue of handling foam in the fermentation tank. Vega 64 is not at all sensing the foam in practical. we raisad the issue to Vega. Representative has told that its related to the Di-electric constant value. May be this VEGA 64 will work for soap foam, not the actual foam. there is also condensate issue in VEGA 64. Condensate and water droplets are blocking the microwave and hence it is not displaying the value

Hello, Thanks for your feedback. It is true that foam is not just foam, it depends on the application. Is there a chance to try another measuring principle, for example a VEGAFLEX which is a guided wave radar sensor?

I have VEGAPLUS 64 . I have got more fluctuation when feeding in horizontal tank . after feeding it show perfect result.my liquid has high temperature and vapor.

Hello.I want to measure of the foam tank level (fire fighting system). we need to measure the level of tank together with foam.water+foam. Can I use ultrasonic sensor? is that possible to measure separately water and foam level with one ultrasonic sensor? Thank you for good information.

Why does the distance decrease from approx. 1.53m to 1.46m during the video? And is there a time available for the profiles at 1:21?
@VEGA_Level_Pressure7 жыл бұрын
During the time the bubbler was on, the water surface was very rough, so the surface height did change a few millimetres. This means the distance also changed. Unfortunately, in one of the last pictures a different echo curve is shown, the container was already filled with more water, so the distance decreased. This is a little confusing when you have a detailed look at the distances. Thanks for your question.

Question: What configuration can be used if it's the height of the foam you want to measure ?
@VEGA_Level_Pressure5 жыл бұрын
Hello Peter Thygesen, this is a really tricky application you are asking for. Foam has very difficult physical conditions and is all the time changing its parameters. In most applications as shown in the video, foam itself is not reflecting the microwaves. It is only damping the microwaves which are traveling through the foam. Therefore the echo amplitude of the level is reduced and hence there is no echo of the foam. Because of the missing echo of the foam, it’s also not possible to make a configuration of the sensor parameters to measure the height of the foam. The most important advantage of the VEGAPULS 64 compared to other sensors is the high dynamic range which allows a measurement even if there is foam on the liquid. In some applications we use an additional sensor according to a different measuring principle to detect the height of the foam. Kindly contact us directly to find a solution for your application? Is it possible to ignore the foam and measure the liquid while aration is going.
@VEGA_Level_Pressure7 жыл бұрын
The foam absorbs part of the reflected signal. The main part of the energy is reflected at the surface of the liquid. This means that the sensor measures the liquid surface under the foam.

Please Help. at the moment 3.3 mA is measured on it. i need 4 mA.

Please try the following: PLICSCOM: OK -> Extended Adjustments -> Additional Adjustments -> HART operation mode -> change Adress to e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 ….. Adress 0 always means 4..20mA. If you have technical questions VEGA Customer Service will help you: www.vega.com/en-de/company/vega-worldwide

What happens when a liquid has steam? How do I eliminate this bad measurement?
@VEGA_Level_Pressure6 жыл бұрын
Steam contains very small drops of water. This particles are very small in relation to the wavelength of app. 4 mm at 80 GHz. This means they don't cause a reflection and the steam is nearly invisible for radar. Also fine dust particles don't gain a big damping or reflection of the radar signals. Because of the much shorter wavelength of the light, it is not possible to look though steam or dust. This is the reason why radar is the ideal measurement principle for high temperature applications with steam or bulk solids with a very dusty atmosphere.
