These are delicious!! Didn't taste salty to me, definitely full of flavor.....I heated mine in the skillet but added a splash of water so it wouldn't dry out.

Here is a little insight from someone who was living in or near *FRANKFURT (Germany)* all his life until moving to New York City: Frankfurters are best when cooked or boiled in water. Those are NOT "brats" (bratwurst) which is to be grilled or fried. After years, I just got myself the smoked frankfurters and I prepared them as follows: do not remove the casing, put them in water and bring to a boil, turn off the heat, let it sit in there for a few minutes. Take it out, cut the casing open and put it into a bun with ketchup and/or mustard and enjoy! There is no drying out, crumbling and whatever you guys complain about. They are juicy and flavorful. *HOWEVER(!),* I have to admit that it seems that the sodium content is relatively high. Then again, I don't know how much is salt and how much is some spicy seasoning. Otherwise, have it not for three times a day for a meal, but from time to time, I am rather happy with the result!

Funny thing is... I checked your About section and found some commonalities: I practiced martial arts since I was 7.5 years old and was a full contact competitor since my teens for 20 years. Also, I am a fashion photographer in NYC and work in the industry for over 20 years! Although, I never run a martial arts school, I was a coach in addition to my own competitions. 🙂

I had them, and the only way for me to eat them was first boiling them in water to help with the dry feeling, then heating it a little on a pan, and also put it on a bun with classical hot dog element, that was way better there with the added element for a hot dog but alone by itself i wasnt able to eat them

I agree everyone has different tastes. I actually love the Field Roast frankfurters - they taste like homemade real German dogs I used to get at local meat market. I haven't tried those stadium dogs yet - I'll pick 'em up tomorrow! 😋👍💕 P.S. I got a bowl of popcorn - Dateline starts in 2 minutes on a local station here!! 😄😳👀🧨🧩

Hi! I think you should try light life smart dog plant based and vegan. I had field Roast smoked apple sage plant based sausages. And yes it is green label. I can't eat by mouth and I have a feeding tube.

I just had another one, and now I know, it isn't the salt content, because I have had lots of vegan dogs, not one was too salty tasting; this one has too much celery flavoring, you can smell it right away; like their veggie burger has too much flavor as well, [which I also blamed on salt content], if you think back to all the other vegan dogs/sausages you have had, were any others too salty? This time it is the celery flavoring that is the culprit.

the texture, great, no bad after taste, great, but...way to salty!! I tried this dog on a bun. they should have cut down on the sodium by at least 100 [540] way to much. Field roast is known for being to salty, just taste their burger! but, their mini corn dogs are great, hmmm, so what kind of dog did they use for that?

Their mini corn dogs are my favorite!!!!!! They really nailed that one. And that’s exactly what I had in mind when talking about field-roast. BUT Dear God, that saltiness is real. The smart dog by lightlife is good and something else I can’t remember to save my life. Hopefully it will come to me soon. I tell ya, after I got Covid, my memory went to crap. Good hearing from you. @@bareknucklebeauty4594 I actually gave these another try, and I didn't find it as bad the second time; I think that the spices may contribute to the stronger taste as well, I like them well enough to finish what I bought, with some sweet, spicy mustard on a bun; the texture was better than most [most are kind of tough, or too soft], no bad after taste either; I think it was the initial shock of the first taste, now, I kind of like it; make up some cauliflower like you did for the meatloaf, and use your fave condiments ")
