For everyone who is confused as to why i refer to lemons as alkaline: Whether a food has an acidic or alkaline effect on the body has little to do with that food's pH BEFORE it is digested. Lemons have citric acid and are acidic, but they have an alkaline effect on your blood pH.

Dr. Mona Vand is black coffee early is the morning bad ? Then why intermittent fasting people talks about having coffee first thing in the morning?
@Viennafly16 жыл бұрын
I don't think your question is stupid at all, and I do see your point. Normal is different for everyone. Anyway, it's important to see who's doing the research, who pays for it, etc. Dr. Vand (who's not an MD, she's a pharmacist) is very intelligent, therefore, she knows how to get money for pushing her opinion on the internet. If she's telling us something that current peer-reviewed research isn't telling you, then she's that source for your info, gets your ad revenue, etc. There's no reason to trust a Harvard doctorate over the ones that write our current textbooks. Dr. Gundry, for example, is another person who's using his degree to sell his book (which basically tells you to eat your favorite foods (like chocolate and red wine), and not eat anything with seeds (most fruits and veggies). Sounds too good to be true, right? I definitely don't trust the government btw, especially with its current leadership. I'm with you there. If I see Monsanto paying for a study, I'm going to keep reading to see if anything backs their studies up. But what we know about physiology is that when acid is introduced into the small intestine, fluid that neutralizes the acidity is secreted. This prevents your stomach acid from destroying your insides, no matter what food you previously ate. Your respiratory system and kidneys work to keep the pH of your blood around 7.4. Usually when it deviates, it's because something is very wrong, not because you ate a lemon or not. Pseudoscience (for me) is someone telling me that a random thing with no evidence behind it will cure me of what ails me. In a nutshell.

I am actually in the same line with you except I won't keep reading if anything backs up a Monsento study. That company is so evil, I am even worried going to start famine in the world. Dr. Gundry is another one I won't bother if he is involved. Thank you for the warning. This was the first time I have seen Ms.Vand's webinar. I agree on evidence. Yet sometimes evidence can be falsified in scientific world. Therefore it is paramount to dig in to find out if any sponsor/s involved behind the closed doors or openly. Who is really behind the research! For me I trust independent scientists more than others.
@Viennafly16 жыл бұрын
Yeah Monsanto is really screwed up! Lots of big businesses like that are. You're totally right about falsifying evidence though. Dr. Oz is a pretty good example of a crap doctor. You might enjoy reading a study he was involved with in the 90s about energy healing. If you google it, it will come up. They messed up their stats to claim that the effects were "almost significant," which is total BS. Either your findings are or are not significant in science. Bias plays a huge role, too, in research. I just get a lil ticked when social media spreads misinformation based on nothing, but it sounds like it could be right. People get their hopes up (including me). :-/

Some very good points. Very similar to my anti-cancer breakfast I adopted to fight stage 4 lung cancer when I was given a 3 month prognosis- today I am tumour free. The only ingredient I had to drop was apples and instead used banana or blueberry in Green the drink. Dropping apples was due to my desire to deny tumours certain sugars. I took a lot of fresh turmeric too to fight lung tumours but after I cleared those tumours I modified my high dose of turmeric as I was concerned it was not helping my Thyroid tumour that was shrinking but very slowly. But overall the breakfast outlined here is pretty close to a breakfast that cancer patients should consider. If chemo or the cancer is robbing you of body weight then you can also switch the coconut water for coconut milk. The lemon juice tip I was told by an Italian neighbour who nursed her husband for 12 years with lung cancer. She also recommended a spoon of olive oil in the morning. This can be taken neat or added to your Green drink. Definitely good to make fresh spinach, kale and celery the main heroes in your breakfast menu. I am living proof of that.

Tumeric is so wonderful and the anti- inflammatory properties is just phenomenal. Question though...did you use asparagus in your concoction? A neighbor told me about the benefits of asparagus and high doses of Vitamin C and how kills cancer cells. Thanks for sharing. ❣️

Lotus Petal In the first 7 months I was have 2-3 teaspoons of chopped fresh turmeric in a tea, in soups or in Pan cooked vegetables in coconut oil or chopped in blended drinks. During this turmeric period there was reduction in lung tumours. But there was also a regrowth of tumours during a period of chemotherapy only treatment. Turmeric tea was my morning drink and replaced coffee etc. i would take more soothing herbal tea at night. General the turmeric was eaten for anti inflammatory effect. I saw it as aiding the immune system but certainly not as a single treatment. In addition to lung tumours I had a large 4cm thyroid tumour - turmeric can interfere with the Thyroid so after my second rapid shrinkage of the lung tumours I cut back the turmeric to concentrate on caring for the Thyroid area. The thyroid tumour eventually reduced to nothing during a 7 month period of immunotherapy.

WhatsHappening783402 If you rekindle your immune system you get many health benefits like massive energy and you can avoid coughs and colds. I have more energy now than 20 years ago. You cannot reach that level of health eating loads of sugar, carbs and processed food. There are claims that today’s vegetables are 40% lower in nutritional values than prior to WW2. I have seen data on that claim. If true it underscores the importance of selecting a range of socalled ‘super foods’ like kale etc that are high in the things you need. You also want healthy raw plant food so fresh food markets, organic shops and home grown vegetables are good. The average Australian or US person is eating less vegetables than recommended in current food charts. For a cancer patient you will need far more green vegetables than that chart. You will also need anti inflammatory vegetables and spices. You need to do a blood test with your GP to know where your deficiencies are. Then you just find the food that has what you need. Probably the worst idea is to think there is good and bad ingredients. There is what you body needs and there is a plant based food for every need. You need to do your homework and get what your body actually needs not what others suggest. It is a constant learning process. We have created a plague of chronic illnesses by buying and eating food based in convenience and taste. Eating healthy requires a switch to listening and observing your own body and energy levels.

That is because greens like kale and spinach contain high concentrations of oxalic acid/oxalate which bind calcium or iron, forming calcium/iron oxalate and calcium oxalate is the main cause of kindey stones, if you boil your greens first it reduces the concentration of oxalic acid in them which you can then use for smoothies

Coconut milk is usually not blended with water when your extracting it from the coconut meat... the milk is extracted by using enough pressure usually if done at home is by hand in acloth after its shredded (theres different contraptions that can be used ones that look like a mini stool/ horse and handheld one). In mass production its done by machinery. My family have coconut plantations, and for special family gatherings we strain the milk by hand, it makes comes out richer and really delicious.

Blended coconut with water will never be the same as greted coconut. And it has to be greted with the smallest holes from your greter as fine ad possible and then you can add just a little bit of water and strain the milk out with a strainer or you can use a cloth to strain the milk out.

Your blood is slightly alkaline, with a pH between 7.35 and 7.45. Your stomach is very acidic, with a pH of 3.5 or below, so it can break down food. And your urine changes, depending on what you eat -- that's how your body keeps the level in your blood steady. The alkaline diet claims to help your body maintain its blood pH level. In fact, nothing you eat is going to substantially change the pH of your blood. Your body works to keep that level constant.

Bob The Builder Correct regarding different alkaline and acidic parts of body. In relation to health benefits of more plant based diet I can only cite my own 24 month journey with lung cancer. By eating more green alkaline ingredients (but still fish and chicken) I was able to reduce gout and reflux problem. This obviously helped digestion and I was able to stop taking Somac (a drug linked to stomach cancer in the US). And with no gout attacks I was able to do my 10,000 steps a day. Did it alkalise my cells? I cannot say for sure but I think the alleviation of my other chronic conditions showed that my previous pre-cancer diet was harmful. It certainly cannot hurt the metabolism to eat healthy. Ofcourse drinking large amounts of chemically or electrically altered very high alkaline water is not smart in case it retards the your stomach acid levels. Most town water supplies are 6-7 so inline with blood. I did switch to free mineral water from a source 100 kilometres from my city. Mainly to reduce fluoride exposure. That mineral water was tested each 3 months and the country council sent me detailed reports. It was fairly high in salts but that did not affect my condition - just the taste.

Dr. Mona, I've heard consistently that adding black pepper combined with turmeric increases the ability of cell absorption, which is the best way to keep it in our bodies and prevent it from bypassing through our liver. Would you recommend adding pepper to this smoothie or in your opinion, do you think it's fine to go without it? Also, I stumbled across your videos a week ago and they have seriously turned my life around. I know this sounds super dramatic, but I've fought for years to get a flat stomach and nothing I did seemed to help, no matter how many hours I spent working out each day. For the past week, I've made these drinks each morning and I've lost an inch of belly fat and can FINALLY see my abs, not to mention (like many of us), I suffer from depression and my whole attitude and energy throughout the day has changed so much that it has really fought off those negative thoughts so I just want to say THANK YOU for these amazing videos you make!!
@heatherclark26235 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. Piperine is the element in black pepper which, when combined with the turmeric, makes the curcumin (active ingredient in the turmeric) capable of being absorbed up to two 2000% more! That's pretty fantastic. You definitely want freshly ground pepper (pepper grinders are inexpensive - - Aldi had a great one the other day for under two dollars), because the organic compounds in the pepper are volatile and will oxidize rapidly and become ineffective once ground & sitting on store shelves for crazy amounts of time. I add 1 pinch black pepper 2 tsp turmeric 1/2 cup of almond milk. I'll add 1/2 tsp cinnamon also. Tastes even better, and the cinnamon regulates the uptake of glucose into your bloodstream so you don't get spikes and crashes of energy. Turmeric is a highly effective analgesic for pain, and an incredibly effective anti-inflammatory agent. It's also been used very effectively as an antidepressant, and for treating depression.😊😍 The awesome upside is that it does NOT create any form of dependency, OR damage your liver or kidney tissues. Instead it actually boosts your immune system, and then makes you feel better in the process. They've actually used turmeric in studies with Alzheimer's patients, who showed significant Improvement in their symptoms.💡💡💡 Greatly decreases brain fog and increases cognitive function as well, which is good news for those of us who are college students. 😊🔬📚💪🙌

I’ve read several studies that conclude that regardless of the containment method (vacuum sealed, etc) freshly juiced or blended produce will start to oxidize 30 min after being exposed to air and within 3 hours over 70% of the ORAC count and enzymatic property will be compromised. If I can find the studies I read (this was a few years ago) I’ll link them. I rather be safe than sorry and make own serving at a time and consume I️t within 30 min of blending. Just some food for thought!

When this video came out. I had just been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. It really helped with my anxiety and depression. I started rotating other fruits and veggies with the base always being leafy greens. Long story short, I thought I was treating my ADHD, but ended up with so many other benefits. Glowing skin, improved libido. My husband and I had lost hope of having kids, I was totally not even trying to get pregnant, but I guess it's just what my body needed to get pregnant. Thank you so much! I definitely know God lead me to this video.

(guest) Glad to see 55K likes.🙂. But sad to see ignorance from the several thousand " thumbs downs"... This video all fits perfectly with the late, great Doris Grant's teaching. She had her knowledge from Dr. Hay, of USA, inventor of The Hay System . He had a serious health scare and devised Food Combining, and looked back to the ancient idea of using food as medicine. This was early in the 20th century, or even before.... I have a copy of Dr. Hay's precious little book , which I had from Doris Grant . She married into the famous Grant's Whiskey family, and her husband Gordon invented the distinctive 'triangular' bottle : they told him it wouldn't be strong enough, so to prove them wrong, he threw it out of a top window... However, I luckily heard Doris on the radio in about 1987, after I'd had cancer, and the radiotherapy made digestion of ' normal' food problematical. The Hay System does what this demonstration does, i.e., helps the body function better. As stated, and as in " Hay ", the aim is to get the blood into an alkaline state. The message about juicing / smoothies has been around for very many years, and is endorsed by the excellent Doctors Bergman and Mandell, both of whom have great videos here on You Tube : they also point out that obviously we couldn't eat that much raw greens etc, but it's easy to drink it . The modern eating habits are making a huge amount of chronic health problems : the typical American food intake is far too acid / inflammation causing. The way greedy manufacturers and junk / fast food places encourage folk to eat junk food is appalling. Many people don't bother to find out about what the body needs to stay well. We should all be taking in 70% vegetables ( especially raw, organic, and not 'forced' : apparently the modern veg's can be far lower in nutrition than they used to be years ago...), 15% carbs, and 15% protein, and trying to keep starches away from proteins in the same meal. A plant based diet is very good, and maybe we can all try to move towards that... In ancient times, we didn't get much meat, or carb's, and over millions of years, our bodies did well... Our modern mass-produced bread is a good example of change-NOT-for-the-better : wheat has been altered a lot from that of hundreds of years ago : more gluten, for a start, which is not good for us....I just heard of a purer type of flour , think it's called "Heirloom" or "Heritage" flour ? Worth looking out for....🙂. But look at so many of us now : obesity in epidemic proportions, and chronic diseases rife. So we can see, if we bother to take notice and learn how we have gone too far away from what evolution let us thrive on.... All these great nutrition / smoothie/ juicing videos are SO valuable : they are here to let us rectify our huge mistakes over the last few hundred years. I recommend Dr. John Bergman particularly : do look for his interesting, and often funny lectures, especially the one about green smoothies and the different types of blenders. He says he calls the American Medical Association , the " American Malpractice Association", for managing disease at huge cost to patients, giving loads of " med's", while not attending to getting the body chemistry better, so perpetuating illness, and making huge profits for the doctors and " Big Pharma.😠. Fried stuff, pizza, ice cream, biscuits, bagels, doughnuts, sugar & salt everywhere...so MUCH acid forming stuff being recommended as o.k. !!!!😠. Look at the adverts on t.v.: so many pushing acid forming / junk food , which if you lived on, would kill you before long... So we need to learn, don't we..... Best Wishes from England. 🇬🇧😊🇬🇧

@aishagranger13916 жыл бұрын
@@jhonnypez7086 it's sad that people actually liked your comment because that's actually a myth. First of all, apple seeds dont have cyanide, it contains amygalin. A single Apple's worth of amygdalin is so small, your body immediately flushes it. Peaches, apricots, cherries, almonds and Lima beans have amygdalin, which can turn into cyanide when in contact with your digestive tract. However, the cyanide in food is not the same as man-made-ultra-strong cyanide which is a powerful chemical and can cut off oxygen supplies to your cells.
@cristi89956 жыл бұрын
@@jhonnypez7086 When we think of dangers lurking in our food, we tend to concentrate on the threats posed by chemical additives or by improper and careless handling. Yet the truth is we routinely come into contact with naturally occurring poisons in a number of the fruits we ingest. Apples are one such fruit: their pips (seeds) contain amygdalin, a cyanide and sugar compound that degrades into hydrogen cyanide (HCN) when metabolized. Cyanide itself is a poison that kills by denying blood the ability to carry oxygen and thereby causes its victims to die of asphyxiation. At least within the realm of murder mysteries, cyanide is the darling of poisoners because it acts quickly and irrevocably: once a fatal dose has been ingested, there is no effective antidote, and death takes place within minutes. It is sometimes described as having a bitter almond smell, but it does not always give off an odor, nor can everyone detect the scent. Cyanide is usually found joined with other chemicals in compounds: hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, sodium cyanide, and potassium cyanide. In the death camps of World War II, the Nazis used hydrogen cyanide (Zyklon B) for their gas chambers. Luckily for those fond of their Granny Smiths, the body can detoxify cyanide in small doses, and the number of apple seeds it takes to pack a lethal punch is therefore so huge that even the most dedicated of apple eaters is extremely unlikely to ingest enough pips to cause any harm. Yet those who have heard apple seeds house a poison (usually remembered as arsenic, a quite different though equally deadly compound) cling to the frightening belief swallowing a small number of pips spells instant death. We’ve had folks fret to us that ingesting as few as three apple seeds would do someone in, a “fact” which, if true, would mean each and every one of us was flirting with the grim reaper every time we made a grab for a Delicious. Apple pips also have a tough protective coating which makes swallowing them even less of a risky proposition; unless the pips are pulverized or masticated, the amygdalin they house remains safely contained within. Apple pips have hard, durable shells that allow them to pass intact through the digestive systems of animals, a quality which helps the apple to reproduce by distributing its seeds to new locations far from the originating trees. Were apple pips susceptible to the eroding effects of digestive juices, apple trees could not reproduce nearly as well as they do, as their seeds would not be so widely spread and a good many of the pips would be destroyed before germinating.

If I'm not making a sugar free smoothie, I'm having protein such as an omelet with fresh garluc, onions, peppers other veggies of choice & or with some meat & with a slice of multi grain rye bread toast with real butter, a balanced meal is best for a healthy body. I'm So happy I found you. Not only are you beautiful your complexion is amazing. I'm 63 years young. Sometimes I don't feel young because I have to walk with a cane. I live in Westminster Colo. I had to have surgery on my back. Instead of Dr Jeffrey Sabin. He was supposed to go through my back but instead went through my hip and cut a nerve. I thought I was going to die and he just left me. I can't exercise like I used to so I want to start with your green juices. Hopefully it will help with my weight gain around my stomach. It looks really delicious. I will go and buy all my ingredients and I will start . Thank you so much P.S I'm hopefully it will help with my nerve pain. 🙇♂️🙇♀️

You can use a small strainer directly over the blender to catch the seeds of the lemon

I make smoothies with my receipe that give your energy . The key to it is Protein powder is required or if you don’t have it, avocado or nuts are important in smoothies to make you go from morning to 12 pm . Then you have lunch .
