VEGAN IN PARIS | best vegan eats

In my youth i travelled the world as a vegetarian and France was the most insanely difficult country to be vegetarian I experienced. Huge amounts of attitude, and always trying to put fish or eggs into my food. I got heartily sick of eating ratatouille (skiing holiday where hotel served set menus. I asked if being vegetarian who didn't eat eggs would be a problem. Was assured they could cater for me. They didn't). This is very encouraging. I guess times change.

It's still very difficult and vegan is even worse. This is Paris so of course you can find some vegan stuff but outside of Paris going to a restaurant if you're vegan is impossible, if you're a vegetarian it is possible but you better check the menu before. And the grocery stores are starting to have some options but it is very very recent and it's not cheap.

@louise You just described my father ahah x) Yep, very much accurate, people have hate towards Vegan but things are moving in the right direction ! Slaughterhouse turned into a sanctuary, dairy factory turned into plant milk one !

Thank you for sharing this! My husband and I will be in Paris for a conference (covid permitting) in June. Hubby is vegetarian and I am vegan and I was really worried I would be struggling while we were there. We are taking a short holiday after the conference to take a little trip around the south of France for a couple weeks but we will have rented accommodation so will be able to cook our own meals. I am really looking forward to going to Paris now that I know there are places to eat. 💚

you're so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful. you def don't need to worry about finding vegan food in paris. when in doubt, find a falafel place!! lol. south of France may be a bit harder but there's a strong Mediterranean influence there so you can always find something

Vergan here too. looks all fantastic but im not a fan of copied meat taste. too many vegan food tour looks same. would love to see more vegan food based on natural vegetables. Desserts looks yummy.

Le Grenier de Notre Dame is very central. All the other ones are in the 10th and 11th arrondissement, north east of Notre Dame, not extremely far.
