my one problem with these cheese is the texture when they melt , it feel more sticky in the mouth , i find that Daiya sticky , the taste is better then before , i tried the Violife cheddar it is good but still feels sticky ..im still in search of the one and only stretchy cheese...

Since I cook with theses often I found that if you dome some tin foil over your pizza for half your cooking time the cheeze will melt it needs a little moisture to help it melt and then uncover and you cook a little longer and you get the browning on the top 😊

The only thing stopping me from going vegan overnight is pizza. I LOVE pizza so much but the only vegan cheese I’ve ever had was daiya and it was ~nasty~ so I’m trying again to find a good cheese and I think I’ll try the follow your heart one.

I never cared about stretchability, but I do care about uniform melting, which I've only managed with a home made version, so this sciencey evaluation was useful. Follow Your Heart has definitely been my go-to pizza cheese, although its unfortunately really hard to find around where I live. I really enjoy the Violife cheese but I don't think you can buy it packaged in Canada unfortunately, although its available as an option at one of our pizza chains which is neat.

It's best to melt the cheese with a little bit of oil or butter right before putting it on the pizza.

The taste is good on Miyokos but I felt that it doesn't get that melty stretchy feel that the Daiya cutting board shreds do. I think they're better for pizzas that use less cheese, like a margherita style pizza

I am so appreciative of this video. I'm moving my way towards vegan more each day. In Jan I ended up with gastritis (it's gone now, thank God) but my doctor said I had to stay away from dairy, sugar, and tomatoes which are acidic. Any recommendations on a good vegan sauce to use on pizza besides a tomato sauce??

@@joybrooks564 I have bought the So Delicious from Whole Foods. You also may be able to get it on Amazon at the right time if you have Prime, but a lot of things have been out of stock lately. It melted pretty well, but I didn't love the taste. It was too strong for me, but my bf liked it. I am also not a fan of Violife either, because it also has a strong taste to me and tastes like butter! Since you like Violife, maybe you might like So Delicious too? I have only found the Good Planet at a store near me called Wegmans. Even though this one doesn't melt as well, I love the lighter taste of this one and it is one of my favorites. My bf and I love Whole Foods brand also. Since they don't melt well, I sometimes give them a head start and melt them a bit in a pan before adding it to pizza and it melts easier. They melt no problem in the microwave or in a pan. The melt and stretch of the Trader Joes/Aldi looked amazing! I need to try either of these next. If you can't find either the So Delicious or Good Planet anywhere near you, you can order them from Vegan Essentials online. They have many others too. I've ordered many things from them over the years. They also offer a lot of different vegan options that you probably can't find in your local stores either. They have excellent customer service and package your items so well - in a styrofoam container inside a heavy duty box and if you purchase the ice packs they include a lot of them and they are reusable. I get the 3 day shipping because they are far from me and that shipping cost is the most reasonable. The stuff arrives cold even in the summer! I'm actually expecting an order to be delivered tomorrow! 😊 I am trying a new one I've never seen near me that supposedly melts well - Nabati mozzarella shreds. Another KZbinr reviewed it a while ago (WorldOfRandomStuff) and it melted just like cheese and even browned like cheese! It looked amazing and I can't wait to try it! If you haven't been able to try the Sweet Earth chickn, you need to order these from them! They are the most realistic chickn my family and I have ever had so far. I have found many of their meal bowls with the chickn pieces, but I can't find just these plain pieces anywhere except on their site. I want the plain pieces to cook them how I want. Their texture is incredible and they are just like chicken. I either marinate them and saute them in a pan, or bread and fry them. My bf prefers the marinated and sautéed way, because I burn them a bit and they come out just like the chicken dishes you get from a Chinese restaurant in the mall. I also tried making my own Bourbon sauce like the mall has, and it was really good, but it wasn't exactly the same. I am still trying to figure out how they make it! I can't find any recipe or product online that is exactly the same so far, and even if people say it's close it's not! I think I'm going to ask the Chinese restaurant in my mall if they buy the sauce or make it themselves lol..

I would say they probably test on animals so if you are wanting to aupport companys that support animals then maybe don't go for them . if you are vagan juat for fun or for health then it doesnt matter. Sure there is good vegan cheese out there. You have to accept the fact that vegan cheese will not taste exactly like dairy cheese!! Just like zevia sodas are a replacement for diet sodas but zevia does not taste exactly like diet soda!

For the ones that didn’t give you a good melt you should try melting it just a tad before adding it to the pizza. There’s a vegan special on Netflix and they spoke on about getting the right vegan cheese for pizza. And the one solution they had was liquid cheese so if you have any of the brands that don’t melt as well just try melting it a little before adding it to your pizza so when it does bake it should melt more to your liking. Trial and error 🫶🏾
