Hint (not a spoiler): Even having listened to every track on every studio album by Queen, selecting _one_ favourite album will remain difficult. Your absolute favourite song (which might change from hour to hour as well) may be on an album that misses three other songs in that absolute S-tier list of songs. I've only ever been able to rank the albums with basically _ignoring_ the absolute S-tier songs and going by which albums I love to play from beginning to end the most. (In my teens, I listened to the vinyl of "A Night At The Opera" endlessly, and I still put that album on sometimes, but it's gone down in my list. It was first overtaken by "A Day At The Races" and later on by "Queen II". There are days when I'm just feeling like "The Miracle" is needed, or it might just be an "Innuendo" day - but I'll go back to either "Queen II" or "A Day At The Races" soon after. Before it changes again. (And I'll of course listen to other top songs inbetween as well.) Oh, and there are "The Works" days, too. And "Jazz" days. Never a "Hot Space" day, though.

Hey Doe. Hope you’re well. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question about “Mother Love”. I was 20 when Made In Heaven came out & ngl, raced to the record shop on the Monday it came out, bought the lp & cd, oh and the gatefold cream vinyl lp oh & the cassette 👀 sorry not sorry then immediately got back on the bus went home & frankly it’s 1 of the most emotionally charged days of my life. Mother Love killed me. Even now I genuinely struggle to listen to it. There’s a not Freddie hits when he “pulls the trigger” & as Roger says “it’s pretty spine chilling actually”. Happy songs….. Mad The Swine is great lol just daft silly “Freddieness” 😂 who else would write about a 3 feet tall dwarf ffs 😂 Peace ✌🏻

It’s interesting that a number of people I’ve met who are big Queen fans are also Beatles and Bowie fans. Queen were my first love (since 84, when I was 9!) and then I discovered Bowie in 89 and became a huge fan of him too. You definitely need to treat yourself to that Queen colour vinyl box set , it’s a beautiful thing. Also the new Miracle outtakes are fascinating . As a near life long fan it’s the most exciting music I’ve bought in years , and I buy quite a lot !

Queen and Beetles Studio Albums. Would that include the pre Queen group Smile with Sir Brian and Roger with Tim Staffel? There is one album Getting Smile, with one song from that album sung by Brian and Tim, and recorded by Queen on their first album sung by Freddie. In latter years, a new recording was made with Roger singing one verse making the only Queen song that had 4 lead singers. Doin' Alright. I found that album on vinyl in New York in 1982 and have been holding onto it trying to find a permanent home for it. For the ultimate songlist, the questioner limited you to three. I would make a list of 3 songs for each of the members writing them. Freddie - March of the Black Queen, Melancholy Blues and Play the Game Brian - Brighton Rock, '39 and Sleeping on a Sidewalk Roger - Loser in the End (about his mother), I'm in Love With My Car, and Sheer Heart Attack (an album title written for a different album) John - You're My Best Friend, Spread Your Wings and In Only Seven Days These were sung by the writers except for John, so I'll include 3 Brian and one Roger song sung by Freddie. Brian - Procession-Father to Son-White Queen (as it began), Fat Bottomed Girls and Save Me Roger - Radio Gaga Then there are all the Brian and Roger solo albums to go through.

Food for thought. The "Flash Gordon Soundtrack" is the only studio l.p. Queen put out that sucks, lol. The medley they made from it called, "Flash", which is found mainly on, "Greatest Hits I", is REALLY good though, lol. Even, "The Cosmos Rocks", is one of their best studio l.p.s. Roger Taylor's first studio l.p., "Fun In Space", is also great and I consider at least the title to, "Hot Space", to be a response to his solo studio l.p. in my mind, lol. Also, "Barcelona", by Freddie and Monsterate Cabelle AND "Back To The Light" and "Anthems" (under only Kerry Ellis' name) by Brian May. Don't listen to any haters about this stuff. Listen to ME! 😄
