Doe, whenever I watch this amazing video, I can't help wondering what the Green Day band members backstage were thinking when they heard their own crowd singing this. I reckon they must have been absolutely blown away as much as I was when I first saw it. Just incredible. 🙋♂

There's not a bad Queen song or album, put them all on one after the other, even Hot Space is amazing.

At 9 mins...Brian drops his bottom E string to a D tuning to get a darker feel in those chords ❤

Brian was fuming that this...his masterpiece was never released as a single. I'd be fuming too. It's amazing ❤

Play this song, well the whole album on vinyl through stereo. Play it with left speaker muted..then play again solely through the left with the right muted. Trust me... it's epic ❤

Seen more concern with what Brian was doing then Freddie’s vocals and lyrics seems like you only heard the chorus worst review of this song ever lol

The only song that tops this one is Show Must Go On... from the same album if I am not mistaken.

I’m 68. Upon release on a Friday I bought it. This song just stunned me at that time. It felt like Rock- Classical- Opera meshed together. I was 17. My first impression was oh that guitar work is otherworldly. Then I focused on vocals. Drums. Bass. Harmonies. I do remember the album had written no synthesizers basically. I couldn’t wait to keep playing it. Remember at that time one needed to keep moving the needle back to the record groove. That night I went to party and commandeered the record player and kept playing it over and over. The song is still one of Queens masterpieces to me. Definitely one of the songs that just made me think how could someone come up with this in their mind. Brilliant.

I wore out three copies of the vinyl of Queen 2 I listened to it so much- still one of my favourite albums of all time but I play safe now have it on cd- and I still play loudly all the way through!! I don't try to analyse what I hear it's your perception what it's about and any way it would get boring if you did, so don't!

The song at the end is called ‘This Is The World We Created’. It was not written for Live Aid, it was written long before that

It is not personal but the band is not Queen anymore. Adam sings well but it is simple, hearing the songs of Queen in another voice and style makes them awful.

This is one of my favorite songs... Shame it wasn't a single but it appears in the News Of The World album and the whole album is an experience also with mega super all time hits like we are the champions and we will rock you .

Nice reaction! I like your ukulele riff on the song. :) "For my life, still ahead, pity me." I first heard this song decades ago, and it still makes me cry. When you say, "I can imagine a whole movie" based on this song, the movie you are thinking of is "Interstellar" -- coincidentally released 39 years after this song. If you've already seen "Interstellar", look up one of the mashup videos that's been done between that movie and this song. If you've *never* seen "Interstellar," go see it and come back (but bring a box of tissues). Then think about how it relates to this song. Then watch the mashup vids. :)

I was fifteen years old that day. I perfectly remember the excitement over the concert and the fact that the city was chosen for the next Olympic Games in 1992. That concert was celebrated for it. From the base of the Venetian towers I could see this masterpiece. Today, when I walk by the fountains I can feel the same magic as that day. I cried when Freddy died, for the end of Queen and for never seeing that duo again at the Olympic opening show with our Montserrat and our city in the background. By the way, I recommend listening to the entire "Barcelona" album... I've loved it all my life...

I feel sorry for anyone that never heard this amazing song from A Night at The Opera. Incredible guitar on this as well as vocals. Back in the 70s, Frank Zappa was asked who his favorite guitarists were. He said there are very few because they all sound the same but Brian May was one of the only players doing something different with the guitar.
