When it comes to why people don’t meal prep, I’ve heard every excuse in the book. Today I am going to show you that it can be done quickly and efficiently, AND you can make it healthy. So healthy, in fact, that you’ll be hitting Dr. Michael Greger’s Daily Dozen all week long.

There are some easy swaps to be made to bring down the overall cals - skipping the oils/vegan mayo. Skipping or reducing that evening sorbet or the mid morning snack would be good examples that would reduce it by 300-400 calories.

I am 66 years old. I have to eat multiple small meals a day instead of your traditional 3 meals a day due to a mal absorption disorder I have. I now have about 70 lbs to lose I was an avid long distance hiker. Then I was hiking in Spain last fall , obtained an injury and surgery for that after flying back home. So I gained all this excess weight just over the past 10 months or so. I gained it for several reasons. Dramatic decrease in activity level, only finally being released to go to gym by Dr a couple of weeks ago. However. I am not going to be able to go to gym because of some work I will be doing in the national parks. And it is about three hours into any sort of town. So, I will be able to hike just about any day. Before or after work. I am also planning on taking some stretch bands with me. I am planning a 600 mile hike next September over about a 6-7 week period of time. Hiking over the pyranees mountains from France into Spain. Then all the way to Spains opposite coast to Finesterre. So I am going to focus on training for that. Trying to get my diet back in order. I just don’t like mock meats at all. Nothing against them. I do like butler soy curls and there is one brand of seitan sausages I like. My doctor who is a sports health physician is recommending I get 1200 to 1400 calories and 100 to 120 grams of protein a day. And he also wants me to follow Dr Gregory’s daily lists. It’s going to be difficult to get those foods in the park. But we will see how it goes. Non perishables that can be delivered via usps can go to the park post office. Other delivery services do not deliver there. We shall see how it goes.

Dr Gregor allows oil?? The KZbin I have watched is no oil, sugar, salt. Explain to me please. I forgot,to say that a few weeks ago i cooked cauliflower in the oven and sprayed with oil for the first time. It is so hard to cook in oven with nothing. Gets dry. I listen to Chef AJ and others so strict but wanted to know if ok with Gregor. Enjoyed watching

I also wanted to add that I will die on the hill of the importance of eating salt. If you go back a few videos on the channel, you will see I did a whole video about it. Haha. Everyone has different opinions on some of the minutae, but I would say we all agree on: eat plants, mostly whole ones :-)

@@wolfdreams2000 Yes, thank you - that's exactly what I am referring to. I have no problem whatsoever with protein powder from a nutritional standpoint. I just personally don't enjoy them and many of our clients do not either so we find different ways around that.

Because I aim to get 4-5 protein feedings per day for optimal protein synthesis, I wouldn't generally recommend 3 meals a day, but it can be done - maybe I will make it.

Need high protein, but much lower calorie count. Can’t stand tofu (consistency) or seitan (color and consistency). I use a lot of edamame, soy milk, high protein pastas (red lentil, chickpea or black soybean). Willing to add creamed tofu to soups and sauces. Weighing lettuce is way crazy. I weigh it all the time, old ED behavior!😂 I can only eat 2 meals a day, rarely a snack. At 75 I cannot eat as much.
@VeganProteins
@VeganProteins 2 күн бұрын
Yes, for some people, this example will be way too high in cls; in others, way too low! Surprisingly the seitn in the chickpea salad had basically no seitan texture at all! (I do like the seitan a lot, though.) How about tempeh? Textured vegetable protein? All of the foods you mentioned, edamame, bean pasta, and silken tofu for sauces, are all good? You may like the edamame puffs!
