I’ve been vegan 8 years, not for health yet I noticed immediately an improvement in recovery time. I trained in the gym in my 20’s religiously, but found that even after a break of a week or two I would find it painful to re-start. I’m now 45, I’ve not worked out at a gym for approx 18 months but joined again this week, worked out yesterday for over an hour to absolute exhaustion and have zero muscle pain today and so will train again this afternoon 🤷♂️I also joined a 10k run a couple of years ago, ZERO training and ran it in 54minutes with no subsequent muscle/joint pain afterwards.

To be honest, After further experiences, I can't commit to the idea that I recover faster. This would require actual testing vs. a non-vegan, or a heavy animal-protein consumer. I've trained recently quite extensively in wrestling and jiujitsu, and found my body took some effort to recover - granted, this was my first time training in those, so those particular muscles were completely not ready. The science shows vegans recover faster nonetheless.

Best choice, you won't regret as years go by. Be careful even about it. Lot of reading. Blessed.

Thanks Maria. Pulling up to 3 years now. Still need to optimize for a whole-foods plant based diet, as opposed to simply vegan junk food sometimes. But step by step.
