Been a carnivore since April 2019. My doctor loathes me for it. She loved me and spoke to me with respect when I was 55lbs overweight, had fatty liver, tinnitus, psoriatic arthritis, no hair, keratosis pilaris, debilitating migraines and cataracts. All disappeared, including growing a lush head of dark hair, within 12 months. My GP told me “Don’t come complain to me when you have a stroke”. My eye doctor on the other hand is impressed and said “I have never seen cataracts disappear”.

I feel like I would starve because I don't eat eggs or nuts, or at least get tired of just meat and butter.

I tried eating vegan. I tried eating exclusively carnivore. The latter helped me transition to sharply restricting refined carbs, by which I mean, for the sake of simplicity, sugar and flour. But I did not feel great under either strict regime. I currently consume a lot of meat and animal fat and also eat salads and steamed vegetables. And I feel pretty good. I'm 77, do a 4 mile jog two or three times a week and take no prescription meds. One additional point: if you're exclusively vegan or carnivore and allow your preference to become a moral issue, that attitude will make rational discussion of dietary choice difficult. In my experience this attitude is more common among vegans, many of whom seem to think that eating meat is tantamount to killing another human. I'll admit that during the 18 months or so during which I tried to be strictly vegan, I allowed that choice to become a moral issue for me. I regret that. It has been over twenty years since my vegan phase and I still find myself apologizing to people for the lofty and sanctimonious pronouncements I subjected them to during that time.

My biggest stichk is that vegans denial of the process that gets them most of their products. They claim it’s “animal cruelty free”. For example, soybeans require farmers to eliminate all animals in the farming fields. Animals include rodents and birds. It’s hypocritical.
@marciavimazal86923 күн бұрын
While I agree animals need to be humanly treated, just remember cows in their current state are bread to eat. Some consider cows as pets, but this is not most of us. Just because you may have a pet dog doesn't mean you will eat that dog because that's not why the dog was bread. Great video!

The cows wouldn’t exist if they were not to be eaten. The wild animals your agriculture kills would exist in greater numbers. Cows improve soil. Ag ruins soil and contributes by far the most to water quality problems.
@AnteroH3 күн бұрын
Your statement is over exaggerated but I understand your point and small critters get killed during the farming process. But would you consider the intentional killing of a person the same as an auto accident that kills someone? Thats how vegans think of it. The intentional killing of an animal is cruel while the accidental killing of an animal is sad and unfortunate.
@WorldsGreatestRingAnnouncer3 күн бұрын
@@AnteroH it’s not being hyperbolic. Avocados and Almonds in California for example require massive amounts of bee importations. 2/3rds don’t survive the journey. Tens of millions of bees die needlessly just to have avocado toast. Soybeans are even worse. Hundreds of birds and vermin in a 10 acre farming sector just to get your soy beans. This involves poisoning, shooting, etc. there are alternatives like tomatoes, potatoes etc that don’t require those drastic measures, but they’re nutrient lacking. Look if vegans know this, accept the risk and don’t refer it to “cruelty-free”, most people don’t take issue. The problem is that they use semantics to downplay this such as animal deaths are byproducts of this, so no animal was harmed in the harvesting. Thus, cruelty free. Carnivores accept that you have to kill an animal in order to harvest its meats. We want to minimize the pain and suffering, a minimally cruel death and having an stress-free environment to develop in. That’s the big difference.

Brief times of high carbs have told me that I would not do well (or feel well) to return to old eating habits, even with "good whole foods". Dr. Berry, I think that if more vegans who are not eating meat because they don't want to kill an animal knew about all the death involved in agriculture's methods for growing plants, AND if they knew about the advantages to the earth, the animals, and the humans with regenerative farming, many heads would be turned. How about a shortened version of your interview with Lierre Keith, for example? Vegans/vegetarians would greatly benefit from this information! thanks for considering this.

You did absoluutly the right thing to promote a truce between both ways of eating. I am carnivore and came from a whole food plant based diet, but after changing to carnivore have not felt better then ever before. Yes, indeed, as you mentioned. when I became WFPB, for a while I felt better, but after a few year did not feel right. That's the time when I found Carnivore by watching Mikhaila Peterson and your video's and chaganged to Carnivore in January this year, and have lost 20 lbs have energy galore and never felt better. Thank you Dr Berry.

This will be difficult. Carnivores in general eat what they consider species-appropriately as a principle. Vegans in general eat what they consider morally & ideologically as a principle. The one thing we have in common is our belief that we're eating for health. Despite this, I'm not convinced this will be enough to bring us together.

Nice work! Thank you so much for this video. Proud of you!! We need voices of people who honestly care about the health and well being of our country (not to mention the rest of the world). You’re talking not only about what’s wrong with our health picture but about the numerous positive steps we can take and how we can come together to make it happen more efficiently. I know you raise your own livestock and care deeply about animal welfare. Thanks for talking about that, there’s a positive future for many young people in that field. Overall a very positive contribution to the health of all of us!

Dr. Ken D. Berry I think this is great that you propose to "reach across dividing lines" to vegans. I must state that the first time I heard and came to a conclusion of N=1 was from your lovely wife Neisha; it really hit home for me. If YOUR CHOICE of diet for YOU is working, then that is the bottom line, BUT do not force your 'success' on others work together on the greater good for the situation; which is stopping mistreatment of animals in industry, mistreatment of humans in 'big food' AND accomplishing the Make America HEALTHY Again movement. Without good health we are dead ......... thanks to all the good 'Docs' who treat the person and not the pocket.

Dr Berry I am more Carnivore (due to health reasons and I loved Vegan eating). However, I believe a united stance would be more impactful. The time is NOW. I know we can do this. I "NEVER ENJOYED" this battle anyway. Yes Dr Berry, try your hardest and we will too. There are MANY lovely Vegan promoters too, that I have watched in duscussion with Carnivores. Our hearts are ALL in the right place. X

100 per cent. I've known many vegatarians through the years and they thrived on their way of eating and still do, it certainly didn't make them lesser than anyone else. I'm with you Doctor Berry. I have a friend who has been veggan for at least 4 years or more and she carries a beautiful leather purse, We need to stop judging people for how they chose to live their lives, and crawl out of the box.

“Reaching across the aisle” is a fantastic idea. While I find the idea of the genetic diet ludicrous and extreme, I think that what each individual needs in terms of nutrition is individual and at least partially the result of our ancestry. Basically (my belief here), we developed in a specific way so our bodies could take full advantage of the food that was available. However, we are all human, and to meet the needs of the human body, we need specific nutrients. How much and how we get them will differ - that’s the individual part. We need to keep this in mind and not be judgmental. IF a person complains of a health issue which we believe could be relieved by a change in diet, AND IF they ask what we would do, THEN Offer your opinion, kindly. Otherwise, keep your opinion to yourself.
@diandenmark3 күн бұрын
YAY! Robert Lustig has been "preaching" this for years - the mutual respect necessary among all of us who are appalled by Frankenfoods. My sense is that there are large individual differences in what a good human diet is - just as there are individual differences in responses to medicines.

Vegetarian here . . . for ethical reasons. I'm not one of those ppl who preaches that everyone should give up meat (although, that would be utopian). I DO believe that a carnivore diet is species appropriate. I wish I could eat meat, fish, etc. without the thought of it making me nauseous. Abstaining from meat definitely makes it challenging to maintain optimal health relative to nutrients, protein, etc.. Thank you for all you do to educate.

Change does not happen overnight. It's cumulative which is why it takes years for vegans to see the damage that's been done. I'm 74 and it took 50 years before I saw the damage sugar, seed oils, etc., has done to my health. I'm not carnivore (maybe ketovore) and my doctor just said I am healthier than most women my age. I'll take that.

Thanh you so much for making this extremely important and I hope helpful video. I agree, there are many things that we agree on and we need to focus on those things and stop being nasty and mean to one another. Great idea to reach across the aisle! We really shouldn't create "sides". It is human nature though as we are tribal in nature but we all need to find a diet that works for each of us and has the healthiest food possible. I'm raising my own chickens, lamb and beef now and it's changed my life! As the research grows about the carnivore diet, I think more people will see the benefit and try it out. I love your idea of not forcing anything too hard to fast. Education is the key. We need to push individualism not collectivism as G. Edward Griffin would say.

I love your message ❤ I totally agree that vegans and carnivores should join forces instead of fighting ( the big companies want us all to be confused because that makes them powerful and rich while we’re down here fighting). I don’t quite agree with you on the sugar topic though: many raw vegan and raw till 4 or even HCLF (high carb low fat/starch solution) promote sugar. Sugar either in fruit form, juiced, maple syrup or by blending several bananas with dates and water. Some strongly promote 40+ day juice fasts followed by a high carb/high fruit diet with hardly any fats (80/10/10) and this person is an ex-carnivore). In my experience, most vegans are pro-carbohydrates and anti-fats and carnivores are pro-fat and anti-carbohydrates.

I do try to talk about the commonalities as you did but I can't help but think about all of the carbs she is eating in an attempt to meet her protein needs. But she's happy and she feels healthy so I try to just leave the "lifestyle" out of it. I can imagine as a Doctor this is a challenge since you meet so many people from different walks of life. We must educate ourselves and each other and stand together. ❤️

Good ol' boy from Florida , Carnivore since 7/23. I've experience more benefits than I would have thought possible. I am terribly distraught from watching loved ones literally eat themselves to death and talk of the next pill, or the next dr appt, or the next treatment or therapy. The addiction is too deep, the junk to addictive. I can't tell people they are actually brainwashed junkies , druggies. Addicted to the chemicals in the food and what they are eating has an immediate , direct and detrimental causative effect on their body and mind. Nobody wants to hear it, they are too dumbed down, sick,tired. Just like to the govt wants. winning

I’m mostly changing from a ketovore diet to a more carnivore diet and I’m feeling great after losing about 49lbs, reversing so many of my conditions, one of them being onset dementia. I have had good support from my medical care. I truly hope that Senator RF Kennedy has success in steering our tax paid dollars to protecting our nutrition in the food industry by incentivizing them to ban bad ingredients in our foods as many other countries have done as many experts have testified in the September 23 3024 Health Crisis Roundtable in DC took place. Which everyone should listen to if they have not yet, on KZbin. Thanks for giving us your knowledge and information that has helped me in my health journey.

Well said! I believe the whole food consisting of nutrient dense items and cutting out junk food and cutting out or down on sweets to the bare minimum would solve 90 percent of our problems. Then we need to fine tune our understanding of how to reap benefits from fruits and vegetables nuts and seeds without being adversely affected by antinutrients. I have tried a bunch of health food diets in the past and nothing has even come close to the success of low carb, keto and carnivore. I cheat on my carnivore with onions and carrots and mushrooms on my eggs. I have sweet potato at dinner. I add a pint of ice cream to my shopping cart, but I am going to try to quit that this winter. I watched a Barbara O'Neal segemnt suggesting cayenne pepper. That will cure your cold hands and cold feet!

The vegans push their religion on folks... carnivores mostly tell folks what a blessing the diet has been for them. Big difference...i dont get in folks face about how i eat...and i dont appreciate the wacks getting in my face, correcting my plate from across the table.. vegans can do what they want... i dont care ....but they are seriously committed to putting their focus on me spouting their dogma. Simply put: They have no respect for folks who disagree or wont comply with their dogma 😂❤
