She's the woman who started my vegan journey five years ago

I loved that last answer. I think that if someone is sensible to the vegan cause but is also afraid of giving up too much one of the best things they can do is just cut out what they can. Maybe today you can't stop eating nutella for instance, but a change in your cosmetics won't kill you. I don't think it's a hypocrite thing to do at all, I think it's a slow way to bigger progress. But a lot of vegans don't agree with that, and I don't really see why. In a perfect world everybody would just turn vegan overnight, but they're adapting, and I do believe that with time and information they'd get there. Anyway, what a great video

Completely agree! I wasn't expecting that answer but I love it. If everyone would at least "do something" instead of nothing it would be a huge step in the right direction! 🙂

Completely agree! Veganism is a cause that is helping animals and anything anyone can do to help out is a good thing, whether they feel they can't give up cheese or not. If they can cut out everything but cheese, that alone is a HUGE achievement towards veganism and for the animals! Like she said, do what you can! I was blown away by her answer because most people who embrace veganism are so strict about animal products, or at least the ones I've seen.

+Kayla McDerman That is so true. We should celebrate every little achievement in my opinion. I'm so glad to find out how many people think the same way!

+Vitoria Amadio i think the way most vegans promote veganism is a bit harsh and that it exactly why people dont wanna go vegan, they are approached in the wrong way. like she said in the last answer, anything is better than nothing. going straight to vegan is a huge step, it is hard to change your diet so drastically so suddenly. becoming a vegetarian first and handling that for a while and then cutting the rest off would be easier to get things going. or if someone eats a lot of meat, then cut off red meat at first and then cut more and more. im doing it that way, i barely eat red meat or use dairy and eggs anymore. i cant go fully vegan when im living home so im cutting things out slowly, that way i get to get used to it slowly but surely.

I love these really short and to-the-point answers! I think it's easy to get defensive (especially when you're new to veganism) when confronted with these types of questions. But Colleen's answers are not only concise, but they're non-confrontational.

This was so helpful. Thank you so much for doing this. I tend to struggle to concisely answer some of these questions with friends. About 95% of my friends believe differently than I do, and I've been really struggling with this. I feel more confident now after listening to this that I can better answer questions. So genuinely, thank you.

I loved the part about "I cannot give up cheese." The suggestion to say "then give up everything else." That it doesn't need to be an all or nothing.

Very helpful Thankyou! I work in a cafe and one of my younger colleagues keeps making fun of the fact I'm vegan...Usually I'd just let it roll off me but now the more passionate I get about my lifestyle the more insulting it is becoming. Time to start dropping some truth bombs🌱

This goes along beautifully until the end when you tell people to not give up cheese. WTF? Not condoning cheese turns you into a welfarist/nonvegan.

In terms of the carnivorous animal argument, I would also like to add that some animals, like lions, will rip the throats out of young cubs that they do not want to grow into adult males. Some animals commit incest and will often rape other members of their pack to assert dominance. Animals also have no economies, live without plumbing, and do not have complicated written language systems that they can then use to program computers or to comment on KZbin videos. We practice none of those behaviours in most situations, so should we advocate for other aspects of their lifestyles, or should we admit that we as human beings are not the same animals as a coyote or a shark? I mean, if someone wants to take off all of their clothes, give up all of their electronic devices, and go live in the woods, I can't really stop them, but they will probably have a bad time. Can we admit that a human being has a little more social responsibility than a red herring? ;)

"No need for" is kinda ignorant. I mean the farmers that invested time and money NEED a return of investment.
@multemulot7 жыл бұрын
I have a question nobody answers that! Do u think the capability of being predators(includes violence and etc) or capability of being cruel is unnecessary? Or veganism won't degenerate such bcs of no other possible "practice"? (If animals can be adapted to farming lives just a quick death isn't horrible for creatures like them,people can agree that with their pets.)
