My brother is a pit boss in a Vegas casino (Boulder station) and he said that facial recognition in casinos nowadays is old hat. Instead, they have technology that recognizes a persons walking stride and said the way a person walks is just as unique as someones fingerprint and that this technology has a 95% success rate. very interesting
@supitschillbro8 ай бұрын
there is no way this is true. your brother may have seen a demonstration of a future technology, but ai is not at a point where it can recognize distinct gaits with any meaningful accuracy. there’s too much variability in how individual people walk. it’s kinda like how it’s hard for computers to guess how many calories are in like a plate of food, because different ingredients can wildly change a dish.
@kameronerdman58708 ай бұрын
@@supitschillbro it’s absolutely true. The technology has been used in Vegas casinos for a while now, it started after Covid since everyone was wearing a mask. Casinos usually call in all high bets. When someone bets over $100 , whether they suspect card counting or not. Then the EITS will follow a full shoe or two, while your playing to see if you match their count. Play lower and make them bleed out much linger that you normally would, flying under the radar.

Does vegas have games under a hundred that aren't machine shuffled? Overseas all low roller games are auto shuffled and they can keep a close eye on the high roller games, although they will be careful before accusing you, but when they do you have to go in the office, they'll photo your passport, you and you have to sign. I don't know what would happen if you went in anyways, but I'm pretty sure not good things. Probably you can't cash out and the police get called.

Most places deal out of a shoe (double deck) face up, while pitching they deal face down. Probably easier to run down for surveillance if it's face up, but I'm not sure. (overall, as a card counter, it has minimal impact unless you are adjusting your hit/stay decision based on the exposed cards and if that's the case, it's usually a near same eV decision regardless)

You really need a big bankroll to survive the inevitable bad runs. It takes many hands for counting to really work for you, in the meantime you are bound to take some serious losses. Also counting is a mindf#$^ because sometimes you are required to make plays that are completely counterintuitive. You have to trust the count. It's harder than it sounds.

I said “no don’t agree to the shuffle! the shoe is Rich right now.” And he screamed at me “HAVE A GOOD DAY!” I just said ok… with my hands up as if surrendering to a cop. Can’t argue with a psycho. Plus, I didn’t need the interaction to be any more memorable than it already was. But I think his little anger outburst told that girl everything she needed to know. There IS a reason he pushed my bet back and told me not to play anymore. And there is nothing he would like more than a shuffle in that moment.

Different cities and areas have their own little nuances that apply to thieves and how they behave. And sometimes you just know based on the way a person moves through the store, or simply by a person looking a certain way, entering the store at an unusual hour. It´s kind of hard to explain for me, but through experience you learn different tells and you can get really prolific at spotting thieves before they even touch any products.

Hi Steven . Love your videos and admire your skills at Blackjack. I agree that card counting is not illegal or cheating. I am a Bridge player and I can tell you all the best bridge players monitor the cards. We use the bidding process as a means of telling our partner what we have got. The opponents pair also have to know what a bid means . So they have some knowledge of what you have in your hand. If they are unsure what my bid means they have to ask my partner and he has to tell them as accurately as possible. I was playing in a major tournament when I made a bid . My partner was asked what my bid was as per bridge protocol. However I realised that I had made a mistake and that my partner had now given the opponents incorrect information. So on my turn to make a further bid my partner realised what had gone wrong with our new bidding system and passed this on to the other team . Anyway remarkably we still managed to score well . The other team were very good players and were the first to congregate us at the end of the tournament. Word soon passed around on our fair play that evening. So you blackjack players are not the only ones who use a memory to play well.
