Vegas Man Oddly Tells Jurors He Wears Lifts in His Shoes for ‘Vanity Reasons’

Accused killer Robert Telles told jurors that he wears lifts in his shoes for “vanity reasons” while trying to make a point that he doesn’t wear designer shoes in the office. During his testimony, he told jurors that his reasoning for telling them about the lifts in his shoes will be discussed during closings and it’ll make sense for clarity purposes at that time.

Robert Telles is accused of murdering Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. After German had written several articles about Telles, a public administrator at the time, he was found stabbed to death outside his home in September 2022. Prosecutors claim Telles’ DNA was found under German’s fingernails. Telles has pleaded not guilty and says he was framed for the murder.
