Vegas Thrift Shopping Adventure! | Bargains Found at Antique Mall

We shop 'til we drop for thrifted deals in Paradise! Danni ‪@TheNICHELady‬, Tiffany ‪@ThriftingVegas‬, and I take our chances and win big on some bargains in Paradise Valley Antiques in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is a fun twist on an afternoon spent thoroughly scouring this large and nice quality antique mall for the bargains that got through, and there's a lot! One space in particular grabs all our attention at once, with scores on Sascha Brastoff, obscure Midwest pottery and a 1930s German smoker figure that has to come to Florida shows with me. My hosts do well here too, but you'll have to watch to see what they get!
We discover far back rooms of bargains, learn the fascinating story of the mall's founder, and spend well over a grand between us! We all go home lighter in the wallets but anticipating big gains as we find valued collectibles well below market price.

I found the Catalina island plates at Goodwill for $2.49 lol Sold for 50 bucks a plate 👍 I had six of them. I think that was a good price. 🤔

Hi George. I had already watched Tiffany's & Danni's vids of this & was waiting to see yours. Thanks for giving us the backstories on the pieces & of the owner. The small maple curio with the mirror was a blast from the past. My mom had one with her glass menagerie animals on it my dad picked her up on his military assignments. Her's usually hung on the wall behind our 60s white naugahyde sofa. That was interesting about Sasha Brastoff that had a mental breakdown. Such a gifted & talented artist & sure glad he didn't give up his ability, but repurposed it. Those enamels were beautiful!

Annalee dolls are made where live and some of my family members have worked there for a long time. I always thought the faces looked like Annalee herself. There are many funny stories that have been told about the company and Annalee was said to be rather fond of alcohol.

I used to have an old strand of bubble lights that when one went out they all went off. Once one burned out, I had to fill in with regular old type bulb. Eventually to many burned out.

Good evening, George! I like those cork scenes, but I'd want glass in the front of it, to keep out dust. That green pattern bowl is called "S Repeat". Dugan made it in Carnival Glass; the green might have been made by Northwood. Dugan used several of Northwood's old molds to make a lot of his CG. There looked like a Victorian condiment set in the case where the Venus de Milo was that caught my eye. It was just behind you when you were talking about subscribing to your channel. I really like the Weller Kingfisher pattern pitcher, but I prefer the polychrome ones. Are the gaming pieces legal to sell in other parts of the country? Those pieces were really neat. Those large brass candleholders, on the floor, caught my eye. I liked those. That Japan piece, with the boy and the rooster, reminded me of a Schafer and Vater piece...a bit on the risque' side. Looks like you all needed a U-Haul, after that trip 😂 Thanks for the take-along!

You are right, the cork needs covering, it's impossible to clean! S Repeat, I knew it was S something, so obvious but I couldn't get it! Thank you. I notice a lot of crossover between Dugan and Northwood molds, I have a Daisy and Plume bowl in blue I can't decide which it is...mine has holes in the legs and the other dealers' did not, neither of us are quite certain who has which variation. I will open your box soon! I don't know where gaming devices are legal or not, South Carolina didn't allow slot machines back when I was selling them. I could've used a U-Haul!

@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, Dugan used a lot of Northwood's molds that he had used to make Custard Glass. When CG came into fashion, Northwood let his cousin use the old Custard Glass molds to make Carnival Glass. The "Nautilus/Argonaut" pattern is a good example of that. Northwood made it in Custard Glass, and Dugan made it in Carnival Glass. That "Daisy and Plume" would be a toss-up. If I had to pick one, with the holes in the feet, I'd go with Dugan, especially if it has an opalescent border. Either way, it would be difficult to say, one way or the other, for sure. I've heard some areas won't allow the gaming items to be sold in their states, so I wondered about that. It's nice to have a haul big enough you need a U-Haul!
