Hi Jonathan, Oh My Goodness.... I've been following many of your G&L videos and came across this video today.... Blown away by the looks, features and of course the sounds you bring out of this guitar. I looked it up expecting a price tag that would leave me wanting to sell a couple guitars to buy one of these. To my astonishment, it is ridiculously affordable. I'll be ordering one today. I'm a bit on the fence as to get a hard-tail or one with the trem. Very spoiled by the G&L duo fulcrum trems so if I get the model with the trem I'll have to follow your lead and pick up a VegaTrem too. I wonder if there are any stores selling these that like Sweetwater, let you pick out the specific guitar when ordering. Yet again another terrific video you put together. Great Job!!

Thanks for whanging that thing a lot & showing us in such depth how to install it, Jon! @JonIsJustTooLoud4 жыл бұрын
I think if you are still figuring out whether the tremolo can be a part of your playing style, the stock one that came with the guitar is fine. ✌🤓. But if the new ones' cavities are larger..than there's really no need to change..unless you want to wang up a lot
@dahenjo76334 жыл бұрын
@@JonIsJustTooLoudThanks, I believe you originally took out one spring to 'float' the trem better, but I don't know how to compensate when removing one spring, do you just tighten those two screws to make the plate on top level again? I'm still learning but it's too stiff which dissuades me from using it. Also I think with 2 springs it was more playable but this allowed it to hit the sides of the cavity (it's no larger in revised model imo), so I'm leaning to getting the VegaTrem which wouldn't have that problem, also I like that it provides the different tension springs.
@JonIsJustTooLoud4 жыл бұрын
Well if you intend to use the trem a lot, than it’s advisable to upgrade to a vegatrem ✌️❤️
@colinricgmailcom4 жыл бұрын
Firstly I'd like to say I love your playing! But I just don't get the Vega Trem? The grub screws stick up, but I guess you can get shorter ones. The block is much lighter, not as much sustain? How much do you need to "Dive Bomb". With a little bit of routing you can do all that with the Wilkinson Vibrato and is only about a third of the price. I've just ordered the Fishman Piezo bridge and is a drop in replacement for the Wilkinson and two Seymour Duncan P-Rail Pickups to replace the Roswell's and all ancillary wiring etc!
@JonIsJustTooLoud4 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin.. is not just about dive bombing .. the Vega trem allows you to Wang up without making your bridge looking all weird . The sustain is spot on with no difference as the guitar is one of my fave and I’m familiar with how it sounds.

Sadly it just did not work for me. A couple of points... 1: Faulty spring twisted so badly it would not stay on the claw. 2: No response from Vega Trem. I had no choice but to return to Thomann as the support was not there. When I did try the Vega trem I have to say that it was very smooth but never stayed in tune. no amount of balancing helped. It became a real pain. Eventually I changed the nut for a Tusq XL self lubricating and it improved the tuning. However, my standard Fender two point trem is perfect since the Nut change and better as far as tuning goes. The only difference is that the Vega trem is smoother on the downward plunge. The price tag can never be justified. My advice is to keep your fender trem and work from that point...look at the nut, saddles rough edges on the block etc and you will be pleasantly surprised at the results. Vega Trem really need to respond to customers. If there is no support, then there is no product worth pursuing or buying...maybe you will respond here??? Hey Jonathan I wanna build an RG style guitar and I´m considering the Vega. I like the edge (Ibanez) cuz it´s less stiff than a Floyd, flutters better and pulls up to a fifth (with the claw guitar body routing). My Floyds can just go up to a third no matter how deep the routing is. Could the Vega go up to a fifth with a deep routing? I love the edge but if the Vega can do the same (or better ?) without the locking nut, the fine tuners, the washers adjustments on the bar and the cutting off the balls ( lol I mean who could enjoy cutting balls off right? XD) I´ll put a Vega in all my guitars. Btw great reviews I also watched your other Vega vid ;) thx for sharing and putting the time my man. Cheers.
Just the Vega trem will do if your guitar is well setup ✌️❤️

Floyd Rose No Fine Tuners, and locking tuners.... about $210 Vega Trem VT Ultra ALONE..... $260+ shipped..... then tuners on top of THAT. I notice that no videos actually show anyone stringing up this trem, or "locking" the strings at the bridge... They certainly do not string up through the bottom of the bridge, as in a old-school trem. I also notice that the trem block itself it very thin and small.... other trems have heavy blocks for sustain. If I were afraid of hurting my guitar, I would choose this over the FR Rail Tail, just because of the ability to pull sharp,. It's a great trrem, but wait up, Mr. Floyd Rose! Perhaps we spoke without thinking!

@@michaelcarey9359 The FR most similar product to Vegatrem is the Rail Trail, surely not the None-fine (to have the same excursion of the Vega you have to route the body) , and it costs more or less the same. But comparing the installation method, according on the manufacturer website , the Vegatrem can replace 6 screws or 2 pivot bridges without body mods, on the other side the Rail Trail needs some drills to replace a 2 pivot bridge. In conclusion if you have to replace a 2 pivot the Rail Trail solution will cost more due to the luthier job (or maybe not if you do by yourself). By the way the Vegatrem surely load the strings from the bottom as shown on the FB official Vegatrem installation video m.facebook.com/vegatrem.vt/videos/628096707626053/. Jonathan, I've got one from amazon and pedalzoo today. Of course seals broken, used bridge and trem, like many other people in US and Canada. There are lots of returns because quality and screws stripping, so they resend them to customers and charge the full price. Nevertheless, in comparison with a RF Rails quality is mediocre. The shifting up and down in the direction of low and high E strings without means to block that is a design mistake. I am not paid by this Spanish company, so say it as it is. Hopefully you will not delete my comments although I know that you do paid advertising on this.

It’s ok.. thank you for sharing. I don’t get paid but they do send me the trems and they work fine for me.✌🏻❤️

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I apologize if I misunderstood that, even better if it is not an add. Totally agree with free trems and fair reviews, although I think they take advantage of your popularity, and should pay you for the time it takes to make a video. BTW, I enjoy your work very much....almost purchased a Japanese Pacifica based on your review :)

Would this tremolo upgrade be able to be fitted to a tele style guitar that originally has a fixed bridge? Just ordered one from Harley Benson and might want to upgrade at some point.
