Personally, I find vegetas hair actually very telling of the difference between hybrid and pure blood saiyan hair, that and some other reasoning makes his hair in ssj3 authentic, true to character, and gives ssj3 a new refreshing design. I like beast gohan, and the hair, its cool they brought it back and the color scheme, form overall, is a nice demonstration of the new over the top designs super and beyond is starting to show. Though, at this point when thinking of an adult ssj3 vegeta, the concern of gohans height is lost, but still, unlike the look on ssj2 gohan, giving height, and a show of power, the hair here is well..the exact same, despite gohans original youth haircut differing from the one our current gohan has predecessing beast, or super saiyan 2. It still gets across the point of booming power, spiking the hair, but the original hair formation is lost, so its easier to see this as a blatant nostalgia grab, not that I don't appreciate it. When trying to look in depth between the two, I can find a lot of ways to show the interest of ssj3 vegetas design, but beast gohans hair mainly is to garner the same presence super saiyan 2 had beforehand. Still like both forms, but reasoning for why people can't like both is very valid.

@@monokomomo4977 They could probably negate that by training, same way they did for Super Saiyan and SS 2, remember when Goku and Gohan would stay as Super Saiyan 24/7 so they could train it to not drain any more energy than the base form? Yeah, they probably could do that, the reason they never did was because there was simply no point since they acquired SSG/Super Saiyan Blue right after Buu's saga, and since it was a WAY MORE POWERFUL form than Super Saiyan and SS2, it would take a lot more time. And the point about being dead that it's explained on manga/anime is that mantaining the form is pretty harsh on the body, but it's not impossible, the hard part is actually being ABLE to transform into it since Goku had to "force" his body into evolving in such a brutal way that it would've killed his mortal body, so the fan-theory all along was that Vegeta would never be able to get SS3 because he was not dead to actually be able to survive the process of this first transformation, but they retconned that in Daima, but anyways, Daima is not cannon (Super is the actual and "correct" timeline and cannon), this is cool as f tho.

I think both are ass design wise they look goofy as hell ssj 3 was always an awful looking transformation on pretty much everyone besides gotenks. With that being said beast is far worse story wise as the entirety of heroes was just Gohan learning the same bloody lesson and rehashing the cell saga even with a recoloured ssj 2 pay off. If there was an in-universe reason, it's probably cause he was reacting on instinct with Beerus when he got angry in round 2. He just went into a blind rage and started swinging on him. Before his anger boost , idk. You could say the same thing about why Goku didn't go SSJ3 right away against kid Buu and beerus. I guess sometimes they just like staying super Saiyan 1

I have a good theory on that and it confirms what ive always assumed. Vegito is the vegeta dominant fusion and gogeta is the goku dominant fusion. Just stay with me. Vegetas voice is slightly louder than gokus in the vegito form. The fighting style is way more vegetas style than gokus. This scene proves it with vegeta fighting with his hands folded across his chest. Vegito is cocky and a shit talker like vegeta. Gogeta on the other hand. Gokus voice is slightly louder, gogeta is more straight to thr point and doesnt really shit talk too much (aside from a little against zamasu). His fighting style mirrors goku especially with the stardust breaker, which doesnt kill the opponent unless theyre evil. Vegetas name is first in the vegeta dominant fusion, and gokus is the first in the goku dominant fusion. It even extends to gotenks. Gotenks is way more goten dominant. His voice is slightly louder than trunks voice. And his fighting style is playful and unserious, ehich is more like goten. Trunks is always the more serious of the two. This theory to me makes so much sense.
