Thank you Lucy, we try to look after everyone here, this week it was time for a vegetarian recipe. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m not a big fan of chick pea patties or lentil patties usually finding them a bit bland and dry but this are fabulous. So light and crispy, lots of texture and tender moist inside. Hope you are having a great week and thanks for watching.;-))

Exactly the kind of recipe I was looking for! I’m gonna make it for dinner. I will have to substitute a few things for my families dietary but I think this will turn out great! Thank you so much for the dinner inspiration! I make cooking videos too and I am so happy to be able to learn new recipes and tips from talented creators like you. I hope we can learn from each other! Much success to you in 2022!

Thank you very much, no recipe is set in stone, I’m happy you are able to substitute ingredients to suit your family’s requirements, seasonal and economical produce and personal preferences. I think 2022 is going to be a good year for our channels as we continue to grow and share. Your kind feedback is very much appreciated and thank you very much for watching.;-))

@@CheekysKitchen Would love to have a lunch box full of them to munch on all night. Well I say lunch, we call it crib here, like, what times crib? well crib could be anytime, breakfast/lunch/tea (dinner) in the early days of stripping... err... I was a manual zinc stripper, strip 15 cells, each cell had 40 cathodes, strip 7 tonne of zinc from 600 cathodes I was done for the shift, usually in 2 and a half hours, our crib was either 10pm, 2am, 10am. I haven't asked around from the older gen, why it was called crib, might have to find someone still around lol...

Would this work in a pie maker? Looks yum
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 2 жыл бұрын
They certainly would Sammi, just make sure you grease the pie maker well. I find butter is nicer in flavour than oil and much more ‘non stick.’ We have made all sorts of vege Pattie’s, rice cakes and hash browns in the pie maker, such a versatile under rated cheap little appliance. I’m glad you are thinking about what other things you can adapt to the pie maker. Thanks for watching.;-))

Cheekyricho, they look good, and I assume they are tasty hot or cold. I'm always after healthy lunch box items as I am a shift worker. Do these freeze well?
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you ozjenva, yes they do freeze well . I would reheat them in a pan, under a grill, in a sandwich press, oven or Airfryer to keep them nice and crisp on the outside. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. They would make a great snack or filling meal without being too heavy .;-))

Hi Cheekyricho. Mmm yes please. A very simple recipe and not to many ingredients, unlike my lentil burger recipe. Is there a Keto version of this?? 👍🤤 These would also be great as party finger food if made smaller. I'd like something else other than the usual gut fillers.. Thanks once again for your time to bring us another delicious recipe. PS. Have you made apple butter? I've been watching the yanks and they seem to be into it at the BBQs.

I'm going to try YT'r Melanie Cooks airfried apple slices with cinnamon. I'd never thought of doing that.

I’m afraid Lentils, corn, flour and even onions aren’t Ketogenic Compliant John, this might be one of those little indulgences to allow yourself occasionally. I totally agree with your suggestion of making them into little bite sized party food snacks. I’m glad you enjoyed it. We haven’t made a vegetarian one for a little while and we try to look after everyone. I have made all sorts of butters, mango, maple, lemon, Passionfruit, Lime and savoury butters too. I’ve been intrigued with an Apple flummery type marshmallow hybrid I’ve been working on. If and when I perfect it you will be the first to know. I do like the spiced apple they serve with Ribs at Chillis, the American steakhouse franchise here, it’s not Apple Butter though and I always serve Roast Pork with apple sauce, call me old fashioned but meats are always presented with their traditional accompaniments here. Lamb with mint jelly or mint sauce, mustard with beef and sausages, Turkey and ham with cranberry and lately spicy tomato relish with anything lol. A Tassie tradition lol. Apple Butter it is then. Thanks for another great idea. Thanks for watching.;-)) hope you’re having a great week!

@@CheekysKitchen Thanks for the information. I too like the traditional sauces where meat is concerned and a squeeze of lemon on seafood. I haven't been to a steakhouse that does ribs for a Wombats age..and doesn't look as I'll get back to one anytime soon. That all things American online shop has some great stuff and I'm sure it will have apple butter. But I'm going to wait for your demo and inspiration. I'm going to have a crack at the Peanut butter and jelly...err jam Chicken Wings recipe. I think I may have attempted it way way back while learning to cook....it does sound vaguely familiar and I'm sure I used to much orange juice instead of a concentrated small amount. Now I have potato starch I can thicken the consistency. I got a real bargain yesterday at my local Woolies butcher, a tray of Wagyu beef offcuts. $3.55 for .592g. I used a bit for a delicious steak roll and the rest I've diced for a red wine casserole. I hope Richo's sister and your mum are doing better. It's a load for them and yourselves. Yes I'm doing well and a little stir crazy. Take care now...

@@CheekysKitchen Yes I too have been hammering the tomato relish on everything. It's nicer than sauce for dipping sausage rolls in and great on hotdogs. I spooned some in to a soup I made and not only did it spice it up, but also sweetened it. Sorry but I buy it in a jar, Coles brand🤫 (don't tell Nat). One of these days I'll make some. Recently I've been making my own pizza and pasta sauces marinating the tomatoes in a red balsamic dressing of all things. Hey it works and makes a great colour sauce, sort of burgandy....

Your wagyu certainly was a bargain, good for you. Many of my recipes happen when I discover something well priced and unusual. When you do get your hands on some cheap tomatoes, my spicy tomato relish is fab on cold cuts and cheese. I don’t think even Nat would approve of $10 per kilo tomatoes used in a jar of relish, it may be the only time he would abandon his ‘ditch the jar’ mantra lol. I made an African Peanut Butter Stew recently but I’ve not done a Peanut Butter and Jelly wings recipe. Note to sell…’check that one out!’ Glad you got your hands on some potato starch, it’s my favourite thickening medium, pretty hard to get during lockdown though. Not as hard as loo paper but then I always buy non perishables in bulk so I was pretty safe. I even shared some of my pantry things with neighbours when the going got really tough. Richo poor sister has been steadily getting worse and unable to have visitors due to the double vaccination rule. We were trying to wait for the Pfizer jab but ended up with the AZ one, which of course has a longer wait time between first and second doses and a significant wait time even for the first jab. He calls on the phone but she immediately forgets everything. It all happened so suddenly. She doesn’t remember her cat or the house and has calls from long time friends and doesn’t know them. It’s probably harder on those friends than her. My Mum is now halfway through her treatment, it is quite debilitating, making her very tired and very sick, food holds no joy and without me there I know she wouldn’t eat at all. He fortnight breaks between chemo allow her to recover just enough before it’s back on again. I’m not able to accompany her into the hospital now so I wait outside in the car park, we just make it home before the waves of nausea hit her. She’s a bit old for morning sickness but that’s is how it happens for her. I will pass on your well wishes, that always seems to buck up her spirits. I always (precious) try to take Richo out for his birthday dinner. Of course I would cook it at home but probably at least about 80% of the time we are overseas on holidaying somewhere. He can order anything on the menu… my shout. He always orders some ridiculously mundane thing like rissoles or sausages, crumbed lamb cutlets or his favourite chicken and almonds or cashews. I don’t know why he even reads a Chinese restaurant menu when he always orders the same thing. Me I sit opposite with an eye watering chilli, something unidentifiable that I have never heard of and can’t pronounce but delicious and he always says “next time I’m going to order what you got!” AND never does lol . Somehow I don’t think you would be that predictable haha. Well it’s breakfast time and I’m off to the kitchen to start my day, can’t be losing myself in far off wanderings on an empty stomach. There’s recipes to cook.;-))
