For the people asking why it took so long for someone to pull up to the car; When you're ambushed in a convoy you do not stop you just keep moving forward and try to speed up if possible. I'm sure the people in the vehicles had their weapons at the ready on the vehicle watching it closely but they need to stay with the vehicle they are protecting not peel off doing Cowboy s***. Once they got the VIP away from the area and possible Car Bomb then they approached it. That was not a Lax response by any means. I can guarantee you if somebody would have started firing out of the car as soon as it came out of them bushes it would have been lit up but the vehicles would have done exactly what they done. Except it's a very very small patch of woods. It's the entrance to Bass pro shop distribution center. Literally a big ass warehouse and lots of parking on the other side of this small patch of woods. There's a Northside and Southside to the warehouse. Employees, when they have to go to oneside or the other. Ride bikes to get there in the warehouse. Just faster than walking it. It becomes obvious which one has the POTUS in if it has the POTUS in it and if it's standard practice to swerve the one that doesn't have the POTUS in it. They can rotate which vehicle they wish to swerve when planning the route incase of an emergency. This makes it much more difficult for the hostiles to know which vehicle actually has POTUS in it.

There are numerous parking lots and side streets along the way which would be much easier than driving through the woods and over a huge ditch 2. After she made it over the ditch, she stopped! 3. I worked that detail before, back in the mid nineties I drove an unmarked unit and the SSA who was with the advanced team road right seat. He was head of all safety concerns, best three days of on the job training I have ever had. A van drove through a barricade, past by the officer at that barricade. The SSA gave two orders stay in the column to make it more difficult for the van to catch up or open fire on the V.P. And the second order was to run the van off the road with the intent to disable it an injury the occupants. As a young Deputy I said , “Yes Sir.” But you can imagine what I was really thinking about. My point is everything they do is calculated, thought out with the principal party arriving at his destination safe. I’m only guessing but it looks like the vehicle did not pose an imminent danger to the POTUS. So the bulk of the security detail arrives at the destination site with all S.A.’s and a local officer can deal with the other event.

Ummm not really. The beast is more bomb-proof than the humvees they use in Iraq. It can withstand more than 4 155mm howitzer shells going off under it, and the insides will be intact. It also has enough weight/mass to not even be remotely slung anywhere near fast enough for the launching of the vehicle to hurt anyone inside. You would need an incredibly obvious "danger" hidden in there, and the fact that these motorcade routes are not disclosed to the public, makes it next to impossible for a threat significant enough to damage the president's car, to be present. The chance is about as close to ZERO as you can get.

Trey Lennon they have to maintain security of the motorcade convoy. There are designated units for dealing with incidents like this. The occupants of the car are just lucky they stopped, otherwise they would have been swiss cheese. I'm actually surprised they had a unit leave they convoy at all. They could have easily had the police officer or sheriff's deputy at the end deal with it. That's kinda what they're there for.

In cities they temporarily close down roads, there are many cops and a metric ton of secret service agents involved. And then there are the hidden elements we don't see.
