I was in a crash, hit by drunk driver. If it wasn't for firefighter who held my hand and talked me through what I needed to do to help them get me out, I was at a point of giving up and succumbing to my injuries, his hand in mine and him talking to me, me, is why I survived. Firefighters and ems, truly guardian angels of life.

I totaled my car a few years back due to blowing out a front tire on a very foggy rainy night! I was trapped in the driver's seat and the firemen had to cut my door off. A fireman could get in my back seat and he held my hand the whole time! I'll forever be grateful for everyone who works so diligently to save lives!! 💙💙🙏🙏😊

I rolled a cement truck years ago, broke my back, 4 ribs, left collar bone, and crushed my kidney. The first responders are the only reason I'm here today. They never gave up, life flight never gave up on me. Everyday hero's we take for granted. Angels if they exist inhabit these men and women.

My dad (fireman) now deceased did the same w an accident victim, her hit car flipped & mangled, he crawled under and stayed w her talking holding her hand until excavated. This was early 80s and too this day of the accident anniversary she posts the newspaper photo of her & my dad thanking him for helping keep her alive, for comforted her in her worst hour, it made all the difference not being alone she told the newspaper. My dad talked to her abt family, of course. Himself having 10 kids had lots too talk about plus he knew her parents and we (his kids) knew the victim. Fireman are lifesavers .

These guys all need double the pay they are getting now, they are fire fireghters yes? but you see them doing this more than anything else. That is a serious expansion of duties. It's more like First responders with a specialty in firefighting. Also the jaws of life and the cutter. Can all departments not get the batter powered ones? I would prefer those cause less equipment to carry and lines that are in the way, greater and easier mobility with the batter ones. But I do not know if they are the same in strength or what the costs of these things are. Im sure they are not cheap to begin with.

Did they do any crash test on this type of car! The seat belt should save the driver but what would of saved the car? If this were back in the 60's or 70's just a lap belt would of helped but as far as I knew no one wore a seatbelt. I believe there was no law saying you had to wear a seatbelt. In the 80's I was driving when I was involved in a accident and was wearing my seatbelt. I wrote a little thing in my local news paper about the importance of wearing a seatbelt. Would you know it the state of North Carolina praised me for standing up for the seatbelt law. They sent me this award's packet for for bringing attention to the importance of wearing a seatbelt and a kind think you from the capital of Raleigh North Carolina.

I can see why you would do that but also, he even said in his description that the video was cut short to show the victim as little as possible. I think it’s very important to show these kinds of videos to the public, this is the dangers of the road and result of a car accident. I think it can help people be more aware and careful when driving. She did survive also. If it were me I wouldn’t have minded but I also see where you’re coming from
@paulacraft23213 жыл бұрын
I also understand your point, however after watching these videos made me have so much more respect for fireman and police. I can't imagine what you see and what stays with you. I also have a 17 that just started driving and I show him these videos. I talk to him about distraction and speed. We talk about being responsible for the friends he has in the car. I believe that showing him these helps shows him how serious driving is.
