I had Vertical Doors Installed on my C6 Corvette and I've had them for 3 years and I've had NO PROBLEMS at all...i spray the hinges with Silicone spray once a month which was instructed by the installer, THAT'S IT... NO ISSUES..... I think all the Negative comments you get are from those who simply can't Afford the hinges and Installation.. so they find reason to criticize them... even though their are pros and cons... Very good product !! 👍🏾👍🏾

Definately appreciate the time you took to explain the cons and pris.. i own an s2000 and i was researching vertical door vids when i came across yours.. i previously tried with a so called" universal door kit" ..wasnt happy.. ut does look pretty cool on the genesis to me btw.. but just like those drawbacks are things i ran into as well. I was hoping by now companies would have made something to operate closer to an oem feel.. but thanks for making this video man.. keep it up. Honest real infro from personal experience..the way it should be.

I have installed mine, Vertical Doors on Merc SLK R171 (right hand drive) since last February (2019) I love it very much and no problem at all at all. Only thing I don't like about this Vertical Door is that: it is NOT Automatic, LOL. ie. it goes up when door open & when want to close, it auto come down all at a press of the button. If only Vertical Door can make it as an add-on, would pay an "arm and a leg" for it, LOL. Good thing is, it's a BOLT-ON type. No welding, just remove the original hinges & bolt on the vertical door hinges But of course, some amount of cutting of the fenders are needed > no big deal. Cannot actually be installed on your own, if can, very difficult. Preferably need two person & quite a lot of adjustment. If adjustment is not done properly > air leak & water leak. Took me and a friend, many adjustments, each adjust needs removal of the fender > eventually got it right. I don't know how long will the strut last, it is already more than a year, so far still good. > no problem at all. Another problem is: on a hot day: lifting it up is easier but bring it down is harder. on a cold day: lifting it up is harder but bring it down is easier. Simple physic: gas expand when hot & contract when cold. NO BIG DEAL !! ACCEPTABLE. So when will VERTICAL DOOR have some kind of auto add-on??? Love to have it, if available.

@@drvivekkaul I don't know what you mean? What pack? I can't remember if they came with bolts or not. Forgot. In any case, you could use the old bolts but apply Loctite

@@drvivekkaul One more thing, for SLK R171, there is a little complication on the right hand fender because of the water reservoir. The seller, I think, named NICK was a bit surprised that I have "no problem" installing it. Actually I did have a problem, on the water reservoir in the right hand fender. But I did sort it out. The water reservoir on the right hand fender was in the way, obstructing the Vertical door hinges. The reservoir NEED to be "SHORTEN" by an inch. that was the trick. Anyway got it do nicely. LOVE MY VERTICAL DOOR. As usual, PLEASE VERTICAL, MAKE IT AUTO if you are listening.

Do not buy vertical door kit if you do... u can buy cheaper ones for like $300 and they’ll open better... I wish I did this

Just received mine.... paid almost $1,000. These doors??? are whack... you have to open them half way the Normal way first, then lift them up... you need to STEP OUT OF THE CAR FIRST..... then open them up!??? Terrible... I wish I watched this video before man... I waited weeeeeeks to be completely disappointed and dissatisfied with everything...

Every lambo door kit I've seen never opens doors like the original ones, that is, it opens laterally and only then vertically. The original already opens vertically. Is it possible to find a kit that solves this problem?

If the owner likes them, then fine. I feel cars that have them as stock doors look good. Would a Porsche GT3 RS look 'cool' with the doors? Does this car gain 'coolness'? I don't know the cost, but the money could have been invested in performance.

For your front lip, is it KS style? if it is, the middle part for the bottom it has 3 openings, did you put screws? like the whole bottom piece gets pushed to the car bumper itself?

Yes that middle piece cover the middle part of the bumper. I put two screws on the underside in the middle.

They can. It’s a hinge conversion kit. The doors are still stock. Just a different hinge mechanism.

The vertical door kit is just a hinge kit. It uses the factory doors which were never meant to go up and are naturally heavy.

They need chrome or silver accents to add any style to a black car. I just went with a silver concave wheel for my ceramic white genesis.
