I have put the vertical door kit on my C6. There's an adjustment to make to where you do not have to open the door as far as you are doing before it goes up. The number one complaint I have is it's almost impossible to close the door on the passenger side. The driver side has the inside handle at an angle Which gives you Something to pull down on, Whereas the passenger door handle on the inside is horizontal And you have no leverage to help bring it in the down position. But they still make the car look gangster as hell And the kids love to see it at the car shows.

No offense but you shouldn’t make a video that falsely represents a modification that relies almost entirely on the quality of the installation. In our 21 years of specialization in worldwide installation of vertical doors, I have seen hundreds of “wrong/garbage” installations. I have to say though, at least all of them had all the bolts installed at bare minimum. Your buddy is missing a bottom bolt. I could only imagine how many other massively important steps he skipped. 21 years doing this, we’ve installed doors on over 7000 cars worldwide, and never once have we had any issues. When installed correctly and the shock pressure adjusted properly, it lasts a lifetime. P.s tell your friend to spray that hinge with silicone spray once every couple months, unless he’s trying to collect rust I guess.

I totally hear and respect what you are saying. However, I feel like in this video I am highlighting the look, the way the hinge functions, and the cost. Regardless of the missing bolt, it’s still expensive, doesn’t open in one motion, and personally I don’t think it looks better than factory. What it means by bolt on is that it attaches to the factory bolts rather than being welded to the body of the car like other kits. Either way you’d need to take part of the fender out.

You couldn't explain it any better.... I made several comment on KZbin why I would never install vertical doors again. I have C6 with vertical and C7 without. It's really is a hassle unless you buy the doors for a show car etc. The shocks will wear and it's a hassle to replace. NEVER AGAIN !!!

Bought a cheap ass set for 300 and had to do major hinge modifications and the shocks didn't hold the door up. It's a feature for show cars. Now I have VDI on my 80 Grand Prix and after 2 years the shocks still hold up. they are not really everyday use and you have to notch all fenders always. I don't call them Lambo hinges, because they're not. As you say, the doors go out then up not straight up like a Lambo. And if you park as to where the weight is to the back side then the doors will kind of shut on their own. I have air bags so I always have the front lower while using the door as they do open out quite a bit but there's nothing to hold the door out

I didn’t have that problem love mine maybe he got the wrong kit or maybe he bought an older version of the kit. But yeah it’s a given the fender has to come off but shouldn’t have to cut anything. There’s no way you can put the kit on with struts without removing the fender it’s in the directions. But cutting. Na. Something isn’t right nice video I agree with some points but over all all they guarantee is that it’s a direct bolt on and that is true. Just like plug and play headlights that are 1300 bucks you still gotta take the bumper off etc.. to install them correctly

I've had mine since 2011 on my black 2010 Camaro ss...it was fun at first until I got stuck in my car when the door got caught behind the front passenger panel and no way to push it open ...Jumped out through the window and pushed panel back in which caused my paint to completely chip off and the metal actually cracked...several times repaired, sanded, bonded, taped, prepped/covered, primed, painted, sanded, compounded, polished, and waxed.......and I still had the issue happen, so the panel is just warped now and probably only solution is a completely new door panel ...I regularly tighten the 4 bolts due to finding one becoming loose last year...but no more stuck door since! those who still want it... good luck! I suggest finding one with a remote controller or butterfly/suicide!

I had lambo doors and even tho i got the cheap set, the installer did a great job. They needed to be adjusted every few months with a set screw, but it was easy. It was extremely practical since i lived in cali at the time and parking soaces are toght there.

Back in the day after fast and furious debut, I got a 04 Celica GTS. I got caught up in the moment and had the Lambo Door hinges installed. I had to cut out the fenders inner area, extended the wiring harness , add extra weather strippings. It was a horrible mess. Rust started to eat through the hinges and chassis, then the weight of the door 🤦‍♂️ I had to go through 4 gas shocks to hold the door up. Several times the door dropped destroying the car body door frame. It was nice no doubt, asides from the Celica looking fast but really is slow. I wouldn't do it to my car again. If the Lambo door company can come up with a fiberglass door shell or carbon fiber door shell to ease of the weight and keep the shocks from blowing, maybe I'd do it again, lol not!!! It'll compromise the car's safety should there be a crash impact on the modified door area. But like you said your car, your $$$ , sky is the limit how anyone wants to mod their rides or what statement they make when pulling up to the valet.

For an instance like this I totally understand. I have a C5 corvette and seriously thinking about adding this feature. However, I have the same idea as you, can I open it all the way up from the seated position and the answer is probably: with a lot of work. But I'd rather cut out some notches on the bottom of the door and make handles. These would be underneath, so invisible to the eye until the door was up. My idea for the handle is just a hole with a plastic insert so u don't hurt ur fingers on the metal frame.

I don't see any valid points here. He mentions cost, you pay to play otherwise everyone would have one. Newer modifications have better gas shocks so the door opening and closing doesn't appear to be an issue. But to each its own, I'll purchase cause it what I want.

I've installed Lambo doors my whole life suicide doors and all custom work if you don't know what you're doing then do not install Lambo doors . So I suggest have a professional do it

I drive my car like 3 to 6 days a month on my Camaro ss it’s my play toy so the doors don’t bother me 🤷🏻‍♂️ shoulda just said if your sports car Is your everyday driver don’t do this lol

You got a problem in understanding the part of the door where you should be concerned about adjusting the hydraulic… it’s pain because you cannot even think of this and just do a video of how bad it is… before doing this video… think about how to find the solution first…

Puh-lease. If you're a kid buying a cheap conversion kit, you will of course be disappointed. Doing it yourself? Duh! Your car must be a lemon or else you're on welfare. Cutting into the fender? Wow! Did you buy a kit for $199? On my 2023 Challenger, the kit I bought (not the cheap stuff) is absolutely stunning. Fits exactly into existing bolts. Professionally installed of course. And easily reversible. Get a proper kit, like AA, and you will be amazed if your car is worth the money. This video author has a lot of time to lose, and his "friend" has a dirty car. Sad.
