I've not got this particular screen but I've had two "Ksw" Android ones (the better of all the custom Androids) and my experience is that the in-built DSP is a bit crap. Audio is a bit less quality, specifically the lows and highs, and the volume is less than if you were to play through AUX from your phone - so I've always ran the unit's audio through USB to an external DAC and it's noticeably better (I use the "Creative Sound Blaster G3").

I love My xtrons, the wireless andriod auto only works on Wednesdays, but I just plug my phone in, usually anyways so the battery doesn't drain.

From my experience with using aftermarket android head units for BMWs (e and f chassis), these are excellent WHEN THEY WORK. They can be more temperamental than my ex and I ended up removing mine all together as it was not a reliable experience in the slightest.

Had a 12.3 head unit but it failed after a few months. Poor tolerance to high temperature. Did not get good support from seller. Buy only reputable brands. Best with local support.

there's no "dsp chip", it's just an eq that hooks androids audio api and let's you modify the signal to the aux. Poweramp eq is the best

@@VehicleVirals it has the standard audio amp built into soc, every android has is. there's no add on dsp chip. the eq is simply an app that modifies the preamp signal to the soc sound amp. you can change apps and have the same effect. Poweramp eq is the best. this is significantly different than a dsp chip. that is hardware processing after the soc and requires the use of dedicated software, which is not the case as Poweramp works. ie there's no dsp, and the fact that's there's no dsp on the motherboard means there's no dsp chip.

I know this is the E90/92 version, but I was thinking of getting the 14.9 inch. But the one I need is the one that replaces the stock nav, and it seems to tilt down a lil bit. My Audio doesn’t work properly, I have my fiberoptic in the right position and I have the aux plugged in but I can only get audio to play when I’m connected to my cars oem Bluetooth, which sounds like it should be fine, but every time I get in the car the cars apple play auto launches and it doesn’t play any sound so I have to navigate back to oem menu and reconnect my Bluetooth to get some sound. I know it’s first world problems but it would be nice if I didn’t have to do that and it played straight from the screen every time. I’ve also tried forgetting my cars oem blue tooth but it didn’t work Please help 😭

Just got mine in the mail today and installed it. Holy!! It’s absolutely amazing🔥 beautiful and works so smoothly. However I cannot connect the LVDS cable😑 it’s so short and extremely difficult to position to connect it. So it’s not connected fully atm.

Interesting unit and impressive features, but from a driver/enthusiast standpoint it's a huge billboard that distracts from the lovely dash and gauge cluster. Choosing between driving enjoyment and simple view, or tech features and cluttered view.

not being able to send audio over Bluetooth back to the original system with aux correction as the only way to get sound is a big miss. It's nearly 2025, Less than high quality digital signal is not cutting it. Plus Bluetooth supports multichannel and metadata. Plus is there any coding or way to avoid the errors from disconnecting the original screen?

How is the CarLetter (Phone Link) resolution in CarPlay on this unit? On mine, I've compared it to AutoKit connected to a Carlinkit dongle and it's a night and day difference. AutoKit/Carlinkit is much sharper (native 2560x720) and smoother (but buttons/iDrive don't work, it's just touch).
