Great fun to see these reactions. I have driven Teslas for the last 7 years, and me and my friends always try to put sceptical car-people and gearheads inside the Tesla to experience it... of hundreds of passengers, no one has claimed it was boring after experiencing it. I love all enthusiast-cars, and I love my Model 3 Performance.
@A7x_Forever2 жыл бұрын
Same with my parents. I once rented a Model 3 Performance (it's my dream car) for the fun of it. Drove it back to the place where I live and let my parents take a seat in it (showed them the tech stuff first). Once I punched the throttle, they were left speechless. At this very day, I planted the seed in them, a desire to be part of the EV future. A couple of months ago, my dad wanted to get himself a nice new car. And well... My family now has a Hyundai IONIQ 5, even though they were extremely opposed to EVs. That's the power of Tesla. But still, my vote is on the Model 3 Performance. It's the most rollercoaster like car I've ever driven. I can't even begin to imagine, what the Plaid feels like. It's gotta be the apocalypse on 4 wheels.
@anthony916882 жыл бұрын
To each their own. I was underwhelmed after riding in my coworkers model 3 performance. Yes it was fast but that’s literally all these cars have going for them. Part of it I think was because everyone been building these teslas up so high that it was an impossible mark to live up to. Also for how much money he spent I expected a much nicer interior. And the biggest thing for me was how quiet it was. I couldn’t stand that. That alone will keep me from ever owning an EV. Also to me as someone who loves driving, not being able to row gears is just plain boring.
@huzygaming72162 жыл бұрын
@@anthony91688 sounds like your coworker can't drive 😉 start pushing the Model 3 Performance and it will be hard to not get impressed while cornering. It has stupid pace through twisty roads for it's size and weight, especially with a few mods on the car 😎
@anthony916882 жыл бұрын
@ HuzyGaming What part of my comment makes you think he can’t drive?? I said it was fast lol. He punched it yes acceleration was insane. I mentioned that. My point is that that’s literally the only thing it has going for it. It’s not a good looking car, the interior while nice by “my” standards, was not as nice as you would expect for the money he spent on buying that car. The screen looks absolutely ridiculous and the fact that you have to use the screen for so many things is a downgrade in my opinion. All you do is push a pedal down there’s no connection to the car for the driver like shifting gears manually. It’s just too plain that’s all. My opinion. I like driving too much to have a car like that. I like to have fast cars but I don’t care if someone out there is faster. That’s the only thing impressive about that car that was my only point. I didn’t mean the performance was underwhelming I meant the car as a whole
@huzygaming72162 жыл бұрын
@@anthony91688 I can read from your comment about him "punching" it, that he doesn't "drive" drive... else you would've talked about the lateral Gs and fast steering, how easy it is to control at the limit. The stopping power, how you can hear exactly what the tires are doing when you're on the limit. Not the straight line performance, everyone knows Teslas are quick at quarter miles. The interior is not luxury, it's just minimalistic. The screen is just something you get used to, once you've had a big screen and gotten used to it, you most likely will never wanna go back. I would personally like a few buttons/knobs, but screen only works fine. You do most stuff via the steering wheel buttons anyway. You are paying for the drivetrain and tech, not the super luxurious materials. It feels soulless because you've never actually tried to drive it spiritually.. I am not saying it's better than a manual or a V8/V10... but it's just a fun and different feeling having the car so responsive to you... instant power at basicly any time.

@prigles1002 жыл бұрын
@@Bbronson most electric cars don't have gears because they can reach speeds over 100mph in just one gear. But after 100mph the motor is spinning so fast, the torque drops very considerably. The Tesla Plaid and Lucid air saphire keep pulling hard to speeds over 200mph. The difference is that they have 3 motors and each motor has different gear ratio. The model 3 lacks of this 3rd motor, but still top speed is 162mph which more than enough. And yes there are other electric cars with gears. Tesla just doesn't use gears because it adds complexity, weight, and making a gearbox that won't break from instant torque is costly ✌️

Everyone has their own opinions. That’s what’s nice about the car community. I rode in my coworkers model 3 performance a few weeks ago and I can’t deny how fast it was. Crazy acceleration. But I can’t say it was that fun still. And didn’t at all make me want one. Other than the acceleration there wasnt much else to like about the car. The interior was pretty underwhelming for the price he paid. I always thought teslas were nicer on the inside. also the big screen is obnoxious and just looks bad in a car IMO. I can’t stand that it’s quiet it just bothers me. Was so nice to get back in my gto after work and hear the rumble of that opened up V-8. Music to my ears. Also hate that you can’t bang the gears man it’s just not a fun car. All you do is hit the pedal and that’s it. I know people will say “but the plaid is faster” but if speed is all you care about then I guess Tesla is right for you. To me it’s a weird thing to spend that much money on just to have fast acceleration. I’d rather get a car that’s fun. But hey some people like not having to do anything but hit a gas pedal. Automatics are becoming more and more common. To each their own.
