that was an era in time that many young people have no idea existed, an era that will never be repeated. Everyone and anyone who was somebody in south florida knew or knew of Don A. He was connected to the upper crust of high society in America. RIP Don you'll always be remembered, and your Cigarette boats still exist even in 2024!!

We had that when I was a kid back in the 80s and 90s era. Not much for the 70s because I was born in 75 lol. But growing up my ex step-dad was like Ben Kramer. Powder dealer with a super fast 38' Glastron race boat. He bought it from another powder dealer who got busted and he needed money. Still had bullet holes in the boat where he got shot at lol. I went to clean it out 1 day and found about 30 or so different sized hollow points that had been flattened. From 9mm to 3" shotgun shells. Scariest part about riding in that boat was if the guys who shot at the boat before my ex step-dad got it were still out there looking for it. We did a lot of partying and stupid shit on that boat. Fun but scary all at once. Especially being around people you don't know

3:43: "He never honored any of them". I worked for Cougar Catamarans in the early 80's on Thunder Row, the scuttlebutt was that that he had scammed a few, certainly wasn't trusted by the Brits who ran Cougar. Not the only drug related story I heard back then.

I met the hitman ( Bobby Young) at Miami FDC back in 07. A skinny, frail man by then. Got my hands on Speed Kills book and once as I was passing by his cell showed it to him ( I was the only Cuban at the time who spoke fluid English so used to translate for other people) and he only made one comment "...please don't mention my name and I ask you as a favor to keep book and don't let it get out in the open. Charles Emmanuel Taylor, the son of Liberia's dictator Taylor was not only in my same floor but we were even cellmates for a couple of weeks before I found out who he was. There was also the Colombian paramilitary boss Cuco Vanoy, we played chess several times until I found out who he was.

The book "Blue Thunder" was the best book about Don A that I've read. Don A was playing both sides of the fence on almost every deal and got killed because of it.

I have that movie. Called "Speed Kills". But in my opinion i believe Ben Kramer and his crew had a lot to do with Don's murder. The movie says one thing as in real life things are different. I mean to be gunned down in front of your business and in front of your employees while those 2 were always bumping heads with each other, definitely had to of had something to do with it. Involved i mean
