I set the assembly up in a vise loosely and used a air hammer that had been cut flat and a dimple made in the end It didn't take anytime really to do it, and came out great. I built two that way.

Do you use the short riveting jaws for the rear trunnion as well?

The 3 Toth tools are the long river tool for $125, the trigger guard tool @ $80 and the jaws for $75, so $280 just to crush some rivets? That is assuming you can get away without the barrel population tools and barrel removal tool? Then $60 for a set of "Down And Dirty" Go-Nogo-Field gauges to set the head space. So $350ish for the uncommon tools used to build one? Not counting a hydraulic press and spot welder (or FCAW welder) and all the shipping related to all these tools?

For the press plate, did you have a hard time getting it to sit on top of the four rivets for the trigger guard? i had a hard time fitting the press plate on top of the rivets. when i pressed the rivets, they mushroomed on the outside and did not make any rivet tails on the inside. Did you file down the press plate for a better fit?

I did not modify tools. Maybe the rivet tails are too long to begin with and thats why they fold over

Where do you get those plates that slide in the receiver?

I'd rather buy a rifle made by this dude than Century Arms. They could learn a thing or two from this guy. Lol.

So what happens if you over squeeze the rivets?
@VEightMerc1244 жыл бұрын
The dome shape will pancake flat. Your other question about long rivets, yes you should "peen" them over or it wont form the dome right
