The potential for head games is so so strong in this one. Players are never quite sure if someone really cares about a certain demigod or just throwing off the trail. For instance with that era card, could the yellow player have been hoping that the rest of the group would boost their demigod perhaps or just pick three randoms so nobody suspects anything. Excellent work as always on this tutorial.

Yeah, this game is all about mind games as far as I can tell. I found it challenging to get that across as I played vs myself, hopefully I did a good enough job.

You are the best game demonstrator out there. Super fluid and natural. I miss your reviews though. They were solid. What games are you playing regularly now? Been ripping Cave Evil, Age of Steam, Cosmic Encounter, Root and Gaia Project lately.

Checking out ALL the content out there for this game. It looks really good and of course you made it easy to understand :-)

5:41 I asked in the discord a clarification on this rule. Colored spots act as a magnet and if the spot is open, you cannot place the matching Demi on another slot on the same card (this is not in the rulebook yet but will be added). The symbol requirements (jaguar, owl, and bull) do NOT act as a magnet however. You can always place Demis on quest spaces not allowed to them by using Portal or Transfiguration as they ignore all movement rules.

Good clarification, thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Wait.. how do Players keep track of the pass and rest? Jon made it sound like the action requires bookkeeping this.

Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!

Great content Jon. Veiled Fate reminds me so much about Heimlich & Co by Wolfgang Kramer

@@JonGetsGames it is also hidden influence game. We try to hide our character from another player while moving characters in our turn, similiar with this game.

30:00 Was the turn order mixed up here? it seemed like turn order was moving right up until this point, and then for the rest of the game the turn order moves left.
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
When adding new quest cards you place them in reverse player order from the new starting player which is why this seemed backwards.

@@JonGetsGames Ohh I see, it just seemed like the voting for the act went the other way as well, thanks for clarifying

Interesting game and great video ! There's something I don't get though, do locations have an impact on the game other than for cards like Defend borders ?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
The 6 standard locations have a locational impact due to whether or not they have quests on them. You can go to any of them from the city for one move, but after a quest the Demigods are left in that location. This means you may need to spend extra move actions to get Demigods you prefer to quests.
@boardgameaddict19664 жыл бұрын
Is this the wooden board or the regular board?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
I filmed this with a prototype that had a cardboard board.
@xChikyx4 жыл бұрын
I didnt get why the location of the quest actually matters...
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
They seem to mostly matter due to the demigods being moved into that location once the quest is done. That means you'll have to spend extra movement actions to get them to locations with quests you want them to compete in. You can also visit the city, but sometimes the city action is actually something you want to avoid which makes traveling slower.
@xChikyx4 жыл бұрын
@@JonGetsGames oh, so if your demigod is in a location, you can put a quest in there so they don't need to move extra?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
@@xChikyx Yep, that is something you can certainly do. This could also indicate your preference for certain demigods so you have to be careful with this decision.

Jon where do you get all your games from?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
For the most part publishers reach out to me about sending a game over. This was obviously not the case and I do buy games for personal interest too. When I do that I tend to buy directly from germany using amazon.de as well as kickstarter and other well known online stores like CoolStuffInc and Miniature Market.
