Vektor CP1 South African 9mm

I will intentionally never show you that my weapons are clear or unloaded with no rounds in the chambers and occasionally put my finger on the trigger. I hate safety sallies or old fudds. I’m not here to show you or teach you about safety, you can do that on your own.

Hi, I have one. Had it since 2002, it is designed well, very simple functions so that makes it reliable, yea it was recalled for a safety feature, mine has the upgraded hammer safety so it is very reliable, the previous safety was not unsafe but was questionable at best. Pros-its easy to use, easy to conceal, reliable and durable. Cons- sights and trigger. But it is better to have it than have nothing, at least it goes bang everytime....and it does what it is designed for, its not a combat pistol or service pistol, its not a race gun...it is a concealed carry pistol for self defence.....and it suits this perpose perfectly. The barrel is polyoganal rifled, which produces more bullet speed, the barrel is fixed so its more accurate and there is limited feed issues and all the internals are stainless steel to combat body moisture issues. all and all its a good backup and conceal pistol, minimal moving parts.

I must say, as a South African I'm quite disappointed by this weapon, compared to the other firearms we have designed and developed...but it is still one of the better looking guns, shoots smoothly, just hate the trigger, the ironsights and the fact it has no slide release, other than that it's great. Another con would be finding a holster that actually retains it properly, this is a good replacement for the z-88 none the less

You sure did throw your money away on that one. I owned one . Trigger is spongy and unpredictable. It's heavy and unbalanced. You might as well have just bought a steel frame CZ. Ergonomics are not that great, and it's not very gripy, tends to slip and slide in sweaty or wet hands. No such thing as a quick Mag change there. You have to break your grip completely to engage Mag release properly. Safety is placed very stupidly for close quarters fighting, and yes I would know, as I worked in security in South Africa, and have first hand experience being in some scary situations. That would be one of the biggest reasons for me dumping it for a Beretta, oh and did I mention it had a mandatory safety recall on them. Turns out, those pistols don't like being banged against tables, doors or anything hard that you might bump into on a normal busy day with a loaded chamber. All in all, you couldn't pay me to carry one of those pieces of rubbish again.
