Well said Vellu. As a physiotherapist i absolutely loved this!

Thank you very much! So happy to hear that a physiotherapist approves :) This is an important message that I hope will be heard in the tricking community and any athletes around the world.

I don't know how to thank you, I'm your biggest fan, I couldn't stop my tears when I saw this video, you are so wise and your motivation helped me in a deep emotional way, I've been doing freerunning and tricking since 4 years, I had 17 right shoulder dislocations, 4 left shoulder dislocation and 1 left knee dislocation, I had my knee ACL surgery 4 months ago and I will have my both shoulders surgeries soon, I know how hard it is to stop and do nothing, I'm off training since more than 1 year now, I don't know whether I can get back again or not, I feel like I don't need anything else in this world, I'm already a broken person physically and emotionally, freerunning and tricking was all that helped me to smile, now I feel lost but your video gave me emotional support, I truly appreciate your video, it means so much for me, I'll give my everything to get back again.

Great video Vellu, this is only something I have learned within the last year and I've now been tricking for 10 yrs. Crazy to think I was so deluded for so long
@Vellusta7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much bro, means a lot to hear this from you ! I totally understand what you mean, and I´m happy that you´ve understood this but sorry you had to learn it through the hardest way. Hope we will get this message around at the community and get people to listen and act according to it

Vellu I relate to this story completely. Torn ACL at 15 from just being reckless. Over the last 5 years I've been learning to listen to my body, focus on everything I'm doing and mainly just avoiding injury. I've finally felt confident enough to start tricking again - this is perfect timing

So happy to hear that Harrison! Keep using the small babysteps to learn new skills, enjoy the small details and nyances of our sport and you will notice that it is actually possible to progress really fast and really safe. I wish you all the best for the future, take care and keep yourself safe!

Thank you so much Vellu! Seriously, you reconfirmed and solidified some things I've been thinking. I started tricking at 23 and am 24 now. I want to continue for years to come and want a strong steady progression building everything off of fundamental blocks. Thank you very much for this video I believe it will keep me from chucking and continue to drill prerequisites so I can trick stronger and longer. I'd love to trick by you someday, Job

I feel so inspired man... you are the best, I have cried and felt depressive in my last 2 years because my injuries in both knees, I heard about many people that I would have to stop training but I always believed in my rehabilitation and I am still trying to overcome the injury to be able to trick well and safely again, and avoid new injuries. Injuries are very serious people should always take much care to avoid that..ur advices are the best, u are our hero.
@Vellusta7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your message. The reason I made this video was to help others, and making you inspired is the best thing what can happen. I hope you will find the right rehabilitation and can come back stronger than ever. I´ve seen lot of trickers come back from serious ACL and MCL injuries, surpass their level and keep training healthy into crazy next levels. Everything is possible, but you always gotta keep safety first. Wish you all the best for the future, hopefully it will be brighter!

Well said Vellu! I have been following you for years and it is great to hear your story. I am watching this while doing my daily conditioning! Slow, but steady learning for me. In 20 years, I would love to meet up and train with you - when we are both in our 40s and moving strong!
@MRKilo-415 жыл бұрын
Won't lie I used to do this, I went for a cartdub when i wasn't ready. I didn't learn the prerequisites needed and thought with just one landing of a hyper cartfull I thought I can do it. After i went for it 6 times i got injured for a week and learnt my lesson. It took a year to learn this and thanks to pro trickers I learnt to take it slow and rather take months to land prerequisites for a trick then to do a prerequisite once and think you have it. Be safe trickers and sportsmen/women, love you body before you cant use it

Yes, I think that the tricking community will need to move towards this direction as a whole in order for us to continue to see widespread progression of the sport. This message is vital to the mental and physical well-being of trickers. They will catch on! We just need more videos and talks like this one. Hope to see you soon as well! Come to New York!

Thank you so much Vellu Saarela. I really needed this reminder, this beautiful video really made me think about tricking in the long run. This masterpiece of a video was released exactly when I needed it. Since the beginning of this year ignorantly tricking with minor injuries and now still struggling to get back at 100%, this video will certainly be a big motivation for me to start listening to my body and tricking safely. I really appreciate this video, thanks Veli-Matti Saarela. I will watch this video everyday as an inspiration :)

Thank you very much for your comment Ahmad. I´m so glad to hear that this inspired you to change your ways and motivated you for listening your body and safer tricking. Tricking with 100% without any pain feels so good, I know you can get there with right conditoning, stretching and proper warm ups always before you start training! So happy you liked this video and I wish you all the best for the future!
