Burt Rattan DID NOT DESIGN the Velocity. It was Dan Mayer who sold the company to the Swings.

If somebody wanted to market a Rutan-designed twin, I wish it would be the Boomerang...
@glennr99134 жыл бұрын
What performance advantages does the twin have over the single? How much faster is it, and are the payload and range any higher?

Faster. Safer.

Would love to know how the VT is doing in 2020. How many out there? Anyone looking at TDi engines and/or pressurization retrofits?

Burt Rutan, didnt design this aircraft. Although it was modeled off that Aircraft by an owner the " Rutan Easy." Then the current owners purchased the company & have done a Marvelous Job. Real Sweet 👀👀 Aircraft. 👍👌👏

Falsehood right up front sure didn't inspire confidence in the video. It was the 'long eze' variant that the velocity was based in, iirc.

Just a Pilot Technically correct, but Danny Maher based the Velocity on Rutan's Long-EZ design.

***** I mean this in good will and humor....DDDaaaaaaahhhhh!.Yup I read interviews with Danny after he started marketing the Velocity. He made no bones about it Rutan directly inspired the Velocity. He wanted 4 seats.

Does anyone know how well these recover from spins and stalls?
@bruhsoundeffect23437 жыл бұрын
ETapia hey, we actually can’t even get into a stall, let alone a spin. The canard keeps it from happening. It stalls before the main wing so the nose simply porpoises and you can hold full back on the sick and it’ll just “pitch buck” 👍
@Hyperious_in_the_air7 жыл бұрын
you guys should look at the possibility of making a canard amphibian

Spins are unrecoverable and require a ballistic parachute

Looks better than the single and this one has RETRACTABLE REAR WHEELS. They can't on the single cos the engine is in the way (just guessing).
@blusheep24 жыл бұрын
Not true. The XL Velocity has a retract option as well. This isn't a long Easy. :P

a push propeller airplane with the engine mounted on the rear just like piaggio aero avanti,makes me wonder if the idea of a pusher prop airplane was stolen from piaggio aero avanti.
@Condor19709 жыл бұрын
+Daniele Pelaia No. Burt Rutan came up with these concepts in the EZ aircraft decades ago, long before Avanti built their first twin pusher.Then Beechcraft took his idea to the next level with the Raytheon Starship that flew before the Avanti, but never caught on as a business airplane, so they scrapped them. Only one Starship remains, and it is owned and flown by Burt Rutan. Both the Starship, and the Avanti were built off Rutan's pusher prop theories of rear wing easy stall recovery. There were other rear wing pusher type aircraft before Rutans EZ's, but most of them were just prototypes.

In case anyone reads this, there are FIVE Starships (Beech model 2000) on the US registry. Raytheon bought most of them back so they wouldn't have to support them; they were overweight and slow compared to the original specs. Burt Rutan owns ZERO of the five.
