I can hear from your voice that you were quite nervous making a video. You did well and the information was usefull!

I was going to comment the same thing. Despite the shaky voice, he knows his stuff and was very informative and detailed. I just got a used one from eBay, wanted to find an informative video on it.

Is there a way to limit those active fans or manually set the rpm? It's really noisy and I'm having the server inside my apartment. I'm currently using only 1 cpu.
@velocitytechsolution7 жыл бұрын
Hakabert123, Great Question.There is no way to control the fans. They are temperature controlled and that is based on the environment you have your server in. Thanks

I've got the Proliant ML350e G8 and I want to convert it to render farm, I intend to install up 32GB Ram and Nvidia GTX 1080, will it be possible? I need to know if it will be compatible.

I know this is an old video.. But I'm seeing these systems go for a song lately. If you have the time, what's your opinion on their use for today?

you can still use them for labs. I just got one and it was just pulled out. I actually got two of them one gen 9 ml 350 and 350p. Strange this is that the gen 8 got more memories and two cpu and gen 9 got only one cpu. Gen 9 was DDR4 and I want to use it for virtualization so I ordered rams on ebay. I will make a video shortly.

Hi Mate , I have this exact server and was running Truenas , Recently I wanted to upgrade a bit so I added a HBA card , 2x PCIe M.2 SSD and a GTX 1660 super ( for plex transcode ) . Now the server fan is at constant 33 - 50 % and its quite noisy in the house . If I remove the PCIe devies , the fans are back to 13% and very quiet . Is there any way to get the fans go quieter ?. Cheers . Emmany

Hardware without a HP certified sticker will cause the server fans to increase, as the fan controller onboard doesn't have a fan profile for that hardware configuration and as such you will need to install custom ILO and then manually tune the fans.

I have the same server, very good option, but too noisy.

Hey guys, I'm trying to install a GTX 1080 Ti in this same server but it doesn't work. I replaced the power supplies for 1200 Watts and the card lights up but after a few minutes it says "Please power Down and Connect the PCIe power's cables for this graphic cards". I tried everything but it always come with the same result. Thank you !!

Hi Alex, Thank you for watching our video and reaching out to us. Given the error is referencing the power cables do you have the additional video card power cables that would come from the motherboard and plug into the card? Unfortunately they aren't standard on the system so you would have to buy a kit which now appears to be fairly rare. The kit part number is 660582-B21. Let us know if we can help with any other questions. Thanks again Velocity Tech Solutions

Yeah i contacted HP about that Kit, it is very hard to find, hopefully a kit for the 9 gen can work on this!!! Thank you for replying :D

@@the_sneakers_patron3561 you can modify a modular cable to work. two of the pins are different. you can either rewire, or just cut those two wires and it should work. best to rewire.
@joshuamongardini56044 жыл бұрын
@@HotNoob What are the two wires you refer to cutting? I assume in terms of the 8-pin connector cable between the GPU and the motherboard. Thank you in advance, much appreciated.
@HotNoob4 жыл бұрын
@@joshuamongardini5604 should be pin 4 and 8. or just pin 4. dont remember 100% off the top of my head. if you grab a volt meter you can just test each pin individually. your aiming for 12v on one side and ground on the otherside.
