Isn't it funny how we are watching this now so many years later because we remember how much we loved this programme and so nostalgia sets in and we watch it again? It's also funny how we still have that nagging feeling about what happened at the end of all this and never really knowing. It's like our memories are still frozen with this as children who took everything to be so absolutely huge in our lives- including our treasured memories of our all time favourite cartoon- even though the characters or the setting OR the adventures weren't even real. We still have such fond memories that can never be shaken.

I thought the same thing, but how close does the box have to be placed to open the proper gate? Within a few feet? Inches? The very precise spot? TBH a lot of their means of getting home should be pretty easy to reopen. I guess that's the nature of magic though? It's very fickle.

Eric thought the same thing,moving the box close to the stone arch bridge but only to the bully woogs from the Swamp earlier in the episode. Loved the trolling Zandora did to Venger trapping him in a dimension part located with Tiamat.

That box would make for a fun campaign hook. The PCs have the box and gradually learn what it does. As they explore they find scraps of the master map and it shows the locations of various things. Sometimes it offers a simple underground shelter, great for camping out. Imagine though, one PC has to stay outside to guard it. Maybe they fall asleep or they don't post a guard the first time they take shelter. When they wake up and leave the box they find themselves in a new place. Maybe a treasure hoard? Maybe a monster's lair? Maybe under water? The middle of a bandit camp? Opeing it elsewhere reveals dungeons, pocket dimensions, the Land of the Lost, buried treasure, etc. It's a great idea for a randomish hex-crawl campaign.

I've always wondered why their weapons loose their power in our world but Venger still has all his power. Plus I would like to think that that if a few kids (even with magic weapons) are able to hold off Venger time and time again the armies of the world should be able to handle him.

Their weapons are powered by the Dragon's Graveyard. I suppose our world is dimensionally too far from the Dragon's Graveyard for their weapons to have any power. Venger's power on the other hand comes from himself that's why his powers work in our world. I do agree with you about the armies of our world being able to handle him.

It would be Interesting if Zandora was Vengers mother and she and dungeon master were in love ..... I truly feel she would of come back as a recurring character if this series was longer... she was more like a native Indian with darker skin... so she may be from a very different area of the realm.... This series had so so much potential for more stories and action... New characters and twists.... Zandora they could of been more original... Pandora.... but it works.. for kids

I love this episode, and how we hear the same battle music in The Amusement Park as we heard whenever they got into something hairy in The Realm. But I wonder how Venger's powers work in our world, but the kids weapons don't? I get that they needed Venger to pose a threat to Earth in order for the kids to lead him back to The Realm, but how do we explain this? Maybe because Dungeon Master created the weapons and he's not there?

This is the closest the D&D kids have gotten to return home. But Venger destroying a hotdog stand, the kids were lucky to be able to trick him back to his world. But did anyone think for a moment the kids could've surrenderee their magic weapons to Venger to remain in their home world and live in relative peace: back to school, get a normal job, pay taxes... which world is better really?

There's one or two where they get close enough to actually BE home, but then they had to go back for some reason or other. Look for the script for the final episode called "Requiem" . It was never made but fans are working on it i think.
