A word of advice, don't go insane with the grease. I packed my velosteel hub with Lucas Red N Tacky grease. Now it doesn't engage forward drive most of the time. The break works fine still. So yeah, today I screwed up. What is happening is the insanely sticky grease is causing the rollers on the clutch to just ride around with the driver, instead of riding up the ramps of the driver's cam ring and gripping the hub shell. Learn from my mistakes. Use a thin grease or thick oil on the clutch. So when I build this hub into a wheel I'll have to strip it down and degrease the clutch or find a big hill and get the bugger smoking!

This is normal. You have to use the brake for a little bit, as the hub gets hot, it gets normal again.

I disassembled mine sometimes to clean and put new grease and everytime it does this. After back pedalling, it takes almost one entire spin to engage forward again. So you perform some strong breakings, it gets hot and the clutch goes back to normal.

Also wenn man die Nabe komplett auseinander nimmt und die so dreckig ist, dann werden die Einzelteile zuerst sauber geputzt. Dann erst danach wird es wieder zusammen gebaut und dünnes Oel wird gleichzeitig drauf getan.

The bearings on these are absolute garbage! I'm certain they've used those silver balls for cake decorating! I just took mine apart and there's pits and flat spots on the driver bearings. I read a review that the outer bearings were bad but I thought I'd see for myself. The whole thing is getting new quarter inch (6.45mm) balls and I'll do away with the cages and run it loose ball.

I've been using this exact hub for more than a decade in very severe conditions and it's still like brand new. Disassembled and greased yesterday and the only issue I've noticed is it's time to replace the three bearings. Everything else is like new. For me this is very good reliability and durability.

Я такого не пробував. У мене давно немає втулок. Потрібно перевірити діаметри конусів, наскільки я пам'ятаю у велостіл здається менший. Але я не впевнений.
