I love velotric bikes. Have 2 of them. I also have a hitway folding bike with 3" tires, very similar to this velotric fold but I got it brand new for $465. It's nice. 750w motor, 13ah battery, goes 28mph.
@mikec43083 ай бұрын
I would not trust going 28mph for anything that cost less than $1000 lol. a new battery costs more than $465

@@goheels4life635 you bought Velotric before the Chinese Mgmt hurried to increase the prices even earlier than the brand main competitors did (Lectric, Ride1Up, Aipas). All of the three mentioned with their lower than Velotric folder, Fold 1, price are now much better value. Velotric with its new above $1,200 prices will now be compared not with three brand mentioned but with better equipped and quality ebikes in this new price range. Do not get me wrong I also own the most popular Velotric kind, Folder 1, so I like this ebike, but only when it was compared with below $1K ebikes.
@kenvik-q5t3 ай бұрын
You can trust 28mph ebikes below $1K very much so. I personally owned and experienced $699 Aipas A2 Elite, $995 Ride1Up Portola, $999 Lectric XP 3.0 step-thru, they all are very solid well-built e-bikes and do not have any problems riding 28mph. So, you’re probably never tested any of those in order to make this categorical negative statement?

I’m so glad you had a positive experience. I bought mine with your strong recommendation. However, you should be more openly honest, 60-70 lbs is NOT light, in fact if you are a senior you may not be able to lift the bike at all. My derailleur guard came bent from shipping, not allowing me to shift to all the gears and the seat post clamp is very weak. After a month it had loosened and stripped forcing me to get a replacement. Other than that. A good 1st e-bike. Also, not under $1000 any more, thanks bike tariffs!

Velotric bikes have a 440 lb weight capacity. Keep in mind that you will pay for the extra weight in shorter range though. I bought two of the Velotric Packers and I love them but they are a bit hefty at 75 lb. This one is close to half that weight and being able to fold it will make it a lot easier to transport.

When I started shopping for e-bikes, I was looking to get out and get some exercise but have some help to get me started. I was 410 lbs. The 440 lb weight capacity is a big deal for some of us. I don't see this in most other models that I've shopped. I bought Packer 1s for my wife and I on their Black Friday sale for $1,500 each. Low carb and intermittent prolonged fasting of 3 to 10 days and I'm currently 80 lb lighter... And it just got warm enough to start riding the bike so... Definitely looking forward to it. I probably would have picked this bike up for ease of transport if it had been available.

Ive got three e-bikes. All have cadence sensors. Two are Chinese built bikes, one was built in UK. Two of the e-bikes accelerate smoothly. One goes from zero to max as soon as you crank the pedals. The point is not all cadence sensors go from zero to max.

Looking for a cheaper ebike for my girlfriend. It will be nice to have someone to ride with. I've been looking for a cheaper folding ebike, I think that will be perfect for her. This one seems like a decent contender, but for about $250 less the Engwe L20 2.0 is looking a lot better. Seems like Veloteric has Engwe beat in the brakes department, that's about it. Anyways. Still a nice bike. I like the blue paint.

Same here, I have a folding bike for the Padawans to use when riding with me. What's good about a folding bike: it is easy to ride, control, and it is safer too. Sitting low to the ground and one's feet more firmly planted on the ground, the rider feels more confident. And as Matt pointed out, the low profile bike is easy to mount and dismount. (Nothing will instill more fear in a rider than having difficulty getting on the bike and then having to manage getting off it. Your would be a wise purchase IMO.

The engwe l20 is awesome. An older relative in my family bought one because he's 77 years old and doesn't have the strength to pedal a normal bike further than about 5 miles. Bravo such a fun with this reviewer, just enjoying his way of demo this ebike and providing along the way with very helpful info. Better and more helpful review than most videos about Velotric F1. Since the reviewer describes more important features which can help more the potential buyer. You easy can ignore more of the reviewers who only copy the description available on Velotric website. Customers really need not to hear and see not a repeat of what is already available at brand site about the ebike, but hear more about characteristics and specs which only the tester can experience, if experienced and observant?

@@vichillebrand9990 yes, I owned Ride1Up Portola, a word of caution watch carefully for potential malfunction of the hydraulic brake lever power cut-off sensor, I have experienced already within a month of ownership this very troublesome intermittent problem - During pedaling and braking the safety otherwise power cut-off feature cuts the power, but it won’t resume when pedaling. Both PAS and throttle stop working. If you’re lucky some tweaking of the two nuts under the brake lever unit could restore the power, but on,y temporarily. Repeated adjustment helped only temporarily and this irreversible cut-off comes back again and again. Since it’s very difficult for us ebike owners to count on Ride1Up only online support, unless they do the right thing and mail us right away a new brake lever unit (right or left needs first to be identified). We, the e-bike owners, did a serious mistake by not picking a ebike company which like Velotric and other more expensive (that’s why excluded from our radar) have a local partnership with bike shops where we can go and seek support and service. So, with Ride1Up and many other Chinese-made ebike companies the post-sale customer is left practically on his/her own to deal with electrical problems like this one. Hope you’re more lucky than me…

Its a little short of 48v on that battery kinda of weird. It daid 46.8 for voltage and 608 wh. Kinda wierd. I have to two 48v 13ah batteries. Which equal 624wh this battery said 46.8v 608wh so that battery is a lilttle short. Also kinda of pointless to pit a 1100 watt peak with a controller with a maximum current of 18 amps. I get it though its for cargo and should give a little more range rather then a 25 amp controller even 20amp. Still you wont ever get that 1100 watt peak with a 18amp maximum cutrent
@Calihan6 ай бұрын
The 48v battery thing is just what some manufacturers do. It's comparable to power tool batteries. They list 18v and 20v batteries, but they're the same exact batteries. For the ebike battery, if it says 48v it's a 46.8v nominal battery.

For the very limited amount of time that the battery is at 100% charge, it seems disingenuous to use 54V to calculate the output of a 48V battery & controller.
@chow-chihuang49036 ай бұрын
I agree it’s disingenuous, but they’re not the ones not brand to do it. Should require them to show the math. The funny thing is he does flash up his math, but he rounds up at the lower end (17A*54.6V) 928.2W -> 930 and very generously rounds up the higher end (19A*54.6V) 1037.4W->1050. [He assumes +/-1A on the 18A controller X 54.6V.]

Just a few months ago a bike priced at under $1000 would have come with mechanical brakes, and probably powered by a 500 watt motor. In what I call the "Padawan category" this bike will give Velotric's competitors grave concern. P.S. Almost there Matt, 100K subscribers! Probably there by the end of this week. We've noticed ebike prices coming down here in the UK as well. You used to only get a tiny 36v battery usually like 10ah at the most and now a lot are coming with decent 48v batteries. Still capped by the 250w power limit so the power is mediocre.
