Great info! I just received the summit over the weekend, but still need to unpack and put together. I’m excited to put the Summit to the test myself!

Hello Scott, You really pushed that bike. Nice upgrades to the front fork and tires. This bike, for those trails needs a bigger motor and more juice. That's a very nice bike that seems to be suited more for the "asphalt jungle". Props to you for taking this one out and getting this one through, especially on such a hot day. Thanks for the ride. ------Steve.

Good video Scott! I'm surprised that bike did that well at Creekside. Those are challenging trails. Good riding and thank goodness you didn't get banged up😊 oh, and congrats on 10k subscribers! 👍

Hey you'll be backpacking in my neck of the woods! Assuming you'll be in the Uintas? Another test for climbing with the throttle is throttle on while pedaling, then let of the throttle. There's a delay of power return to PAS. Quite frustrating.
@scotthardesty4 ай бұрын
Ah, I didn't try that test. We are going to be around Salt Lake. Not really sure, I just show up. Every year I do a video about it (of course, hahahaha) so maybe you will know where I am when you see that.

Loving your videos on the summit one. Seriously looking at these more SUV style bikes. Gonna send that email out to Euphrer - I would love it if they sent you a steller falcon.

Glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, this will most likely be the last single track I put this bike on as I have others that are better suited.

Hey Scott, do you know if components from an older mountain bike not used anymore can be put on an ebike? Mine has Shimano deore xt and deore lx.

Amazing, more confident new profile pic if I'm not mistaken lol! Looks like the Velotric Summit 1 finally made you happier than all your previous e-bikes ever combined, including the Aventon Aventure 2 lmao! Compared to your Aventon Aventure 2 which has given you wheel problems in that winter riding video of it last year, has the stock Velotric Summit 1 presented you with similar issues as you are riding it? Any manifestations of problems with it or is the build quality far superior to the Aventure 2 when it comes to preventing such issues? Which bike do you feel has more power, torque and/or hill climbing capability? Yes, you were absolutely right that the Summit 1 can easily save space compared to the Aventure 2 but not primarily because of the fat tire but due to the thru-axle of the former. That way, I could easily bolt and unbolt the front wheel of the former to save space in a tight apartment where it will sit on the hallway with the handlebars flat against the wall after removing the front wheel. How much faster/easier can you unbolt the Summit 1's thru-axle for the front wheel compared to the Aventure 2's on the fly? Either way, just one of those uneveness on the trail you are riding will literally send me as a human catapult off my current electric scooter with 9-inch wheels! The Velotric Summit 1's wheels will be over 3 times larger and will be a blast of an upgrade for me this coming winter to conquer the super rough streets of NYC where just one good-sized pothole can be an absolute danger to me riding my e-scooter! I hope you would make a winter video of the Summit 1 in the city, preferably in the middle of a snowstorm or I will do it myself as I uploaded several electric scooter rides here in NYC! Thank you so much for responding to my comment in your previous video!

When I was the Velotric NY event, I met another KZbinr who has about 150k subscribers and took some pointers from him. Hence the new profile pic. hahaha. I think both Aventon and Velotric are quality bikes, they are my favorite companies that I deal with because the quality of their bikes. The issues I had with the A2 was fixed with one trip to shop and parts that Aventon sent me replaced. The issues I have with the Summit (besides the forks I broke on my first outing with it) have been the only issues. With that said, I am having issues with the motor on the Summit 1 when using it on single track mtb trails as it over heats. I have also pushed the Summit 1 harder than I have my A2 becuase they market the Summit 1 as a mountain bike. When it comes to removing the front wheel, the Summit 1 is much easier, as it only takes one allen wrench to do it. The Aventure 2 would also only take one wrench but there are washers and nuts that could get lost when removed. For this, I give the Summit 1 the win. I feel the Summit 1 would have more climbing ability over the A2 but not by much. It is a lighter bike and built more for that kind of stuff over the A2. I do plan on doing a video testing out the Summit 1 in the snow.

Hi Scott. Which crank you recommend for the Summit? You said that shorter one will be better for the trails.
@scotthardesty4 ай бұрын
Most other emtbs use a 165mm crankset or shorter.
@InfiniteMishapsАй бұрын
Were you in the lowest gear ⚙️ when trying those climbs? Do you think the it needs taller gearing to handle climbing? Is the weight of the bike holding you back or no? This is one of the best off-road video I’ve seen of this bike in action. Thanks
@scotthardestyАй бұрын
I don't remember at this point but most likely yes. There is Summit 1 FB group and some people have made some gearing changes that have really helped. You might want to join that group as we are always talking about upgrades. The weight of the bike is comparable to other emtb's although a couple of pounds heavier so I don't think it was much of a factor. Thanks for watching!

Would any throttle only bike make it up that hill in your first hill test, in comparison? Love the content, looking at this bike more for basic trails and beginner dirt rides.
@scotthardestyАй бұрын
This bike would be great for exactly what you are wanting to do with it. No idea if any other throttle only bike would make it up the hill as this is the only bike like this that I have tried that with.

Question: Your Summit has a top tube that (from the side view) runs a straight line from the headset to the derailleur. Mine has a break at the seat tube that starts a new angle. Why this difference?
@scotthardesty2 ай бұрын
I'm guessing the size of the bike. Min is a size Regular.
