Some super useful tips, like marking the master link with paint. You mention you wrap “all the bikes” with the neoprene wrap. Do you use that wrap system on standard pedal only bikes? I am considering something like Ride Wrap to protect my mountain bike frame, and this neoprene cover could be an easy peasy option.

Hi Ed, thank you! I used the Wake stem (upc ‎782429363903 on amazon). It has a 25 degree rise and you have different lengths to choose from. I used the 70mm. The clamp cap is unfortunately not interchangeable due to different bolt spacing, but I do plan to drill and tap a small hole in the stem itself (not the cap) to bolt the light to. Cheers!

How did you get the bike for $1529? I have seen a $60 off discount code from the $1799 MSRP but that's about it. Also, would you consider making a video where you add a dropper post?
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Ай бұрын
Hello, the discount code I used was v12x2f2, give it a try and see if it still works. A few people that follow my videos have been successful with that code and got the bike for the $1529. That said I hear the bike is now retailing for 1999, up a couple hundred since when I bought. I will consider a dropper post down the road. I'm not that big of a fan of the droppers because the three I've had seemed to always slip and collapse at the most inopportune time. I'm kinda old school and the just seem a gimmicky to me. Hi Richard, I know I only dropped two teeth on the chainring but it did give me a bit more ground clearance, made it so I needed less additional chain to compensate for the larger low gear diameter, dropped some weight over the steel, and looks kinda cool. Cheers

@@davidiliyn Hi David, you're welcome. Honestly I haven't even tried the find my feature. If I was riding down in Denver where bikes get stolen all the time I'd use it, but where I live in the mountains my phone doesn't even work half the time so things like that aren't really useful to me. I'd check with Velotric customer service and see if it is just something easy like a setting causing it to do that. Cheers

@@davidiliyn I'm having the exact same trouble. After resetting and reconnecting, the bike starts beeping when riding and disconnects. The only way to fix it is to reset and reconnect Find My. Hi Richard, to this point I have only used the neoprene covers to protect the batteries on my ebikes. I have seen some videos where bikepackers have wrapped their frames for protection. It makes a lot of sense and really doesn't add any weight to the bike. I'm not a big fan of the dropper posts mostly because I've had them slip and drop on me at the most inopportune moment. Brakes is a definite possibility though, these work well but get smoking hot on big down hills. Cheers

Don't frag me for this, but what about adding a suspension seat post to give a little more suspension in the rear?
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Ай бұрын
Hi Tony, it's a legit question. I originally bought a suspension seat post to put on it, but after a few rides I decided it didn't need it. The bike rides very well without it and I don't get an objectionable amount of vibration and shock out of the back of the bike. I expected it to be a much rougher ride than it is. Cheers

@@lifebehindbarz60so I appreciate you beyond belief but I am a noob slightly and have another question about the rake you said you measured 54mm on stock would I then need a 51mm offset to match correctly I tried understanding the video where you said it fits even with the offset again thank you!
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Ай бұрын
@@rccarsrus3825 No worries RC, the frame designers put a 54? mm offset fork on the bike. The 44mm offset of the Fox in simplified terms means the wheelbase of the bike is now 10mm shorter than stock. That works to tighten up the steering a bit while theoretically making it a little less stable at high speed. Now, off paper and in the real world the handling is essentially the same as stock. The bike handles extremely well in both tight slow areas and at full speed. You and I will never notice any difference in handling (other than the HUGE difference in fork quality) between the 44 and the 54mm forks. Cheers
