Alley gets the best returning group in the nation on defense and he has BV to make sure everything goes well. If Ted Roof could do it, Alley will be pretty dang good

What do you mean by “finally “ coming to his senses?? fyi- Gundy isn’t returning. Nobody here knows the exact reason for his firing. We all know it was around a word that he said repeatedly that a player was writing down on the tablet that belong in a song lyric vs football stuff. That has been said. But everyone wants to speculate something else. But what we don’t know is the context of Gundy’s rant. We don’t know if BV had talks him on other accusations on the subject. For BV to bring him back wound go against his principles in his actions and conviction on the topic 100%. Cale is happy not in the situation but in his life. He’s said it many times. BTW I don’t know a position that is open that Cale would make better.

Curious about your thoughts on this thought…it seems worth noting that a slew of guys on defense opted to stay and then the DC is fired. I wonder if all of those dudes knew, or even suggested, that Roof be gone?

Interesting. However I do think that the key there is that they all opted to stay before bv went through with parting ways with roof. If he did that before, things would be up in limbo and we probably lose some of those guys to the nfl.

It's Venables who they are signing up for, not Roof. I think we needed to get a young, fiery type of DC to relate more with these players.

Not a sexy hire on the surface but a lot less expensive and everything that glitters isn’t gold. I had never heard of TBOW but no can honestly say he can’t coach offense. By take away after this pod is that Alley puts emphasis on the D backs being the backbone but Venables has always said it’s the LB’s.
