I was born in Venezuela and I moved out in 2017 at 20 years old. It was absolute madness back then and it got even worse. I could talk about so many things but keeping it simple about delinquency in specific, every single person I knew (family, friends, coworkers) was a victim of some sort of delinquency at some point, especially robbery, my parents and brother were robbed multiple times, my mom was even kidnapped once and only thanks to God she came out alive of that nightmare, we were “middle class” I guess, we lived in a condo, my parents were professionals but we weren’t wealthy by any means, everyone gets robbed, no exceptions. My country is beautiful but you don’t live there, you survive. The sound of motorcycles was terrifying every time I was out of my house because I know it was very likely some robber “working” in that moment. I was so lucky to get out and so was my direct family, don’t believe the bull shit from people trying to defend this tyranny, ANYTHING that the Chavez government touches is turned to shit, they only know how to destroy and blame the US for every misfortune, the government is also known to be heavily involved with black magic, witchcraft and all that stuff, truly disturbing and terrifying. Thanks for this video and your hard work, God bless.

I remember in 2008 at college in Mississippi in the US, there were a few Venezuelans and one guy who everyone liked named Jorge who was from Venezuela suddenly dropped this awesome editorial in the University paper about life in Venezuela. He chose his words carefully but if you read between the lines you could see the words were screaming to tell people about the darkness coming from Chavez. It's funny when you think of someone one way like I thought of Jorge. I thought he was just a partier, a person just concerned with fun, but after reading his article I was really impressed and for the first time felt like I had the inside track of the damage being done in Venezuela

@@javierchirinosbar The main trouble with Venezuela isn’t “socialism,” not that I’m necessarily a supporter of socialism or any other “ism” for that matter, but the main trouble with Venezuela are United States led embargoes to cripple the country economically and exclude them from the financial system; the Bank of England, who works closely with the US government- let’s be honest they run the US government (and the world) lol, actually withheld Venezuela’s access to its own gold… which they store with the Bank of England (because why?). And i'm gonna tell you something worse, he just filmed Caracas, capital of Venezuela, every other state is x10 times worse than caracas, for example, people who live in Zulia usually have just 5 hours of electricity, i'm not joking, FIVE HOURS, Barinas, Mérida and Tachira usually have 15 hours without electricity per day, 15 fucking hours mate, and caracas is the only state who has gasoline, everyother state have to wait hours, days, weeks (Táchira), for gasoline i'm not joking, so is so hard to go to work in these states, and also they don't have electricity 15 hours per day so is even worse, then u have to make at least 20$ per month to still alive. I worked in Dar Es Salaam for 5 months, and I saw tremendous poverty. We hired local laborers, and they were terrified to be on the streets at night. We were told they would be kidnapped, put into a van and have their blood tested for aids. If none was found, their blood was then drained from their body into bags, and their corpse dumped along side any road. Clean blood was in big demand.

Am disappointed with the collective bias folks have against Guyana, bordering with Venezuela, one segment of the population has a monopoly on street level hooliganism, whilst the political hierarchies the PPP and PNC from 1966 to present are daily replacing the old colonial masters behaviour, enriching and pillaging the state coffers, whisking away their loots to bank's in the Diaspora.

We were literally in the middle of nowhere near a waterfall..and then one evening we decided to go out yo a restaurant for some authentic local food which was lovely...people were so kind and accommodating. On our walk back to the hotel a truck drove past full of men and one threw a full beer can at us nearly missing us but splashing us..however, wherever u go u will always find negative situations. @@TheGoodContent37 if the US and Arab nations were devising a plan, why couldn't the Venezuelan government devise their own plan? Were they innocent kids who didn't know how geopolitics works? I'm not pro US by any means but this mentality (that everyone is conspiring against me) is ridiculous. A system that cannot defend itself against foreign powers is useless. Dear Rott, I´d love to agree with you on Venezuela being prosperous and progressive before Chavez, but the truth is we had a democracy that ran on two alternating parties which were both rotten to the core and that over decades had slowly reversed the flourishing trend Venezuela had in Latin America during the 50s and 60s. Venezuela managed to stay afloat thanks to the broad shoulders of our oil, which sustained almost our entire economy while being merciless bled by corrupt politicians. If Venezuela had really been progressive and prosperous we would be the Abu Dabi of America today, Venezuela is like a billionaire that you find absurdly living like a descending middle class guy (before Chavez) and then turned full blown homeless junkie (after Chavez) . The Chavez curse would have had no power over Venezuelans if our previous leaders had used wisely the unlimited resources this country had and still has. Chavez was the monstrous offspring of two very corrupt political parties, and the result of a desperate act by Venezuelans, tired of decades of broken promises, never ending corruption scandals and a slowly decaying economy. The apocalyptic fate of those who seek messiahs. All things said, although Venezuela was not progressive or prosperous before Chavez, it still was one of the most extraordinary places you could visit in your life, and probably one of the friendliest and most open nationality you could ever get to know. Before Chavez we were a filthy rich corrupt battered country but a resilient country as well, with an open smart brotherly humorous fun-loving culture, after Chavez all that is left are ruins and hopeless souls.

So well put together! My wife is from Venezuela and I finally got her here to the United States one and a half years ago. The situation in Venezuela is horrible. We help her family as much as possible, but it continues to get harder and harder for them each month. Inflation is crazy, this covid situation has made everything worse (if that's even possible), gasoline shortages, food shortages, poor medical care and corruption as always. I pray for the people of Venezuela. Makes me realize just how lucky we are in the United States. Seeing this really puts everything into perspective. The little things we complain about on a daily basis don't even come close to the daily struggles these people endure day in and day out. Dios te bendiga!🇻🇪

Travelling from Carupano or Cumana to Guiria was risking your life especially at night. I lived in Venezuela from 2001 to the end of 2003. Then I revisited for a week in 2005. It's incredible how much this country has fallen apart. Chavez and Maduro have destroyed this country. Thank you for this video. As a United States citizen, I won't be returning for a very very long time unless something changes for the better. This country was beautiful. Most countries get bombed when they have the balls to stand up to the NATO. Also that Oil was not only income, the guy (Chavez) took loans and offer from EVERYONE (FMI, Russia, China, Iran, all those "guys who say America is evil?") From each $10 spent, is calculated the $2 came from oil and $8 from loans... Knowing that, Chavez did NOTHING to save money or even have some future savings, as soon as oil prices dropped... things went south, and literally down the drain.

Man, as a Venezuelan who lived that misery, I can tell you this was very accurate. It is hard to find ppl report on the realities and getting the small hard details correct. Thank you for showing this and explaining it a way that can be understood by people from the outside that are not clear on what happens there. My only contrarian opinion is that Chavez did not help the poor intentionally. And yes, at one point it seemed things were getting better for the poor cus there was so much money to throw around. However, all that money was wasted in corruption and handouts. Infrestrutcture was never done, maintenance to the Oil rigs and refinary was never done. Basic things like water and electrical supply was never maintenanced. I want to make clear Chavez did not help the people even when it looked like it. He just gave handouts to ppl to get in power and make it look like the rich ppl and small business owners were the bad ones etc... When chavez died, it was coincidential that the price of oil came down, and it was impossible then to hold the farse longer as they did not have funds to spend. And what you have left ? A country whose economy and production is completely destroyed. And the only thing we learned to depend on, oil, we cannot even extract efficiently as all refineries are fucked with no maintenance. |Look at out coasts, we are spilling the oil into nature. It dont even matter, thought, as all that oil money is stolen by the Regime. Peace

Others get food cheaper through the government making huge lines. I mean, people still find a way to live. And given the local currency is so unstable, the dollar is what is used, and it creates somewhat of an economy. But if you are lucky enough to pay for your daily food, that's all you got. The problem is that the government has destroyed all of our resources and that has slowly degraded every business in the country only their own people (government) are the ones who benefits, all this leads to all the crimes he mentions because there isn't enough jobs or opportunities to have a future (like other countries). My country is beautiful, there's always two sides, you can find the bad but also the good. @@borito3591 Going to Venezuela, going to the worse places and presenting it as if its all of Venezuela. The aim is to overthrow the Government and move the Americans back in. Remember what happened to Iraq, Panama and other places the American invaded. This fake journalist is creating consent for the Americans to invade Venezuela. He also did videos of North Korea. Anything else you want me to teach you about today?...

I’m in America. & I still find a way to complain about something. Every place has its problems. It’s struggles. It’s injustice. But I watch videos like this to learn about how life is for others around the world. Looking into the home of the dance teacher. I have a nice bed. Dressers. Walls & a roof. Heat or AC. Things like this really put in perspective. My heart breaks for people around the world living like this. I can’t even imagine trying to raise a kid in those situations. This world is so damn cruel.

You don't even have to travel the world to see stuff like that. Just take a trip to West or East Baltimore, parts of Detroit, parts of LA county. There is a good amount of people live like they are in a 3rd world country while under the United States flag..

I live in Russia, Yakutsk city. It's not easy to live here, but there are a lot of things that are free. No any criminal activity on the streets. Only domestic crimes and little corruption. The people mostly live in affluence. It's a pity that there are places where life is really hard

@@CCAFS617 oh 1000% even in my city. It’s urban but not big compared to most places. I just watch pple walk by me & you can see the pain & struggle on their faces. We have pple sleeping outside downtown. Pple with signs at the end of highways. It’s heartbreaking. There’s literally enough resources in this world that no one has to struggle. We have pple that hoard it all with little regard. I hate this world most days. I watch a lot of stuff like this & get cynical I must admit. It’s infuriating. I have to force myself to watch feel good stories & look for the good & beauty in this world. There is beauty & good in this world. But when see endless suffering it’s hard.

@@ИванЯкутск-е1ь yeah. Dont get me wrong. There’s many in America living like this or worse. Look at skid row in LA California. Down the road from mansions & astronomical wealth are pple sleeping out on the streets. Starving. Addicts. Selling their bodies. It’s so sad. But from where I am sitting. I’m warm. Fed. Clothed. I have what I need & I still tend to complain but when I see others situations it really puts it in perspective.
